You talking about the bolt that holds the shock to the LCA? Seized in the bushing? Did you try an impact from the head of the bolt and see if it'll back out at all?

If not, lots of PB or kroil, let it sit, and then a long punch and a hammer, and if that doesn't work wail on it with a air gun.

Use antisieze all over the bolt when you put it back in. :D

    Breaker bar?

If its really siezed your going to have to take it off the truck to get the kind of acces you need to do it yourself or take it to a machine shop to get it drilled out.

It shouldn't be that hard to get with regular tools.

I don't really understand what is spinning however. Can't you just put a wrench on it to stop the spinning?

    Lots.
There is a metal sleeve that sits in the lower strut hole. The bolt that runs through that sleeve has seized to the sleeve. The bolt and sleeve turn, but it won't release from the sleeve.

@bulhas Old thread, I know. I'm having the exact same issue. How did you end up getting the bolt out?

    Thanks!

I had this happen years ago. I had to get a Dremel with some small cut-off wheels and cut the bolt, both ends, just outside of the tabs that hold it. Then, slightly bend the tabs out and pry the bottom end of the strut out.
It's a pain in the ass but the only way I could think of to get it out.
Any hand held grinder that's bigger can be tough to get into the tight spots.

Thanks @winkel . I called Toytec today, and that is precisely what they recommended. Another option they mentioned was to cut off the very bottom of the shock. I'd love to save the bold, since the replacement Alumas don't come with new bolts. It's soaking right now, and I'll put the ball joint press on it tonight to see if I can press it out. Otherwise, I'll do exactly what you did. Will report back.

Some people recommend anti seize when you reinstall the hardware. This is good advice. I always just use a little grease. It'll work well too.

If I recall correctly, I didn't have room to get a sawzall in there. Not sure on the exact application here but yes, the principle would still be the same.
