I don't see alot of options for dual cases for 6 speed manual 3rd gen Tacomas...Besides going to FJ Cruiser T case our an Atlas what other options are out there?? I have run Atlas before but just seems big time over kill for a little tacoma...

You could get a Northwest Fab eco crawler box which is essentially a doubler and gives you an additional 2.57:1. A benefit to that is being able to engage it while leaving the transfer case alone for an instant 2LO.

As expected, it isn’t quite a simple bolt in. You need some planetary parts from an existing transfer case to install into the crawler, as well as need to lengthen the front and shorten the rear driveshafts, in addition to enlarging the floor hole for the shifter and extending the transfer case wiring since the tcase gets relocated rearward by about 6”.

I don’t know of really any other good options for lower tcase gearing. Atlas is a given, most of the Toyota cases are around 2.57:1 so a doubler probably makes more sense.

Yes I did read up on their case setup. They need a donor t case up front..Which is not hard but 6 speed manual t cases are not that easy to find..This seems to be the best option yet cost is close to an atlas by the time you are done..

I went with the Marlin product. All Pro Off Road had a similar one as well, although I can't seem to find it on their website at the moment. Haven't yet installed my 4.7 gear unit.
