Did some research and compared the areas that look like theyve got minor seepage to tsb that are common for our trucks. I think i have that blasted timing chain cover leak. and maybe even a small one on the front ;/ expensive as hell to have resealed since everything has to come out. but until it starts dripping in my parking stall im gonna let it ride.

 

What tsb?

 

theres a toyota service buletin on the timing chain cover leak and a leak by one of the pulleys in the front. cant remember what that one was called. think i have both but i donno they arnt that bad ill leave it for now and hopefully it doesnt get worse

 

I'm round the 54k on mine. Hasn't shown those signs... YET ..

 

So here's my current engine situation ;(

 

This is the only sign of a leak I could find but I am pretty sure it is because I spilled a lil bit of oil during my oil change and it just ran of that side since it is on an incline.

 

it's everywhere almost in there. hope it's nothing severe, would have someone get a peep at it though to see what it is/narrow it down to something specific.

 

I loath timing cover leaks.

 

While we are on the subject, anybody know what would cause chips in the fan shroud?

 

wtf happen there? I would say the fan, but if there are no traces on the fan it could be something that kicked up in there? At any time did you hear anything odd in the engine bay out of the blue? that looks like it would have made a noticeable sound/noise/indication or what have you. Happened in two spots as it looks

 

I haven't heard anything unusual! I guess I should check out my motor mounts but I think that would be a pretty noticeable problem.

 

That's what I'm guessing it is. That cover right there on the lower front is the timing cover right? I think it's just blowing up the engine. But I donno that one underneath might be another problem. That's why I'm trying to locate that bastard pcv valve. I'm wondering if its bad and causing my seals to leak since the pressure isn't dissipating there at the valve. Either way doubt it's somthing ill be fixing

 

I actually have an extended warranty. But have all my suspension mods voided it?? If I don't use it by October 2014 or 74000 miles I get my 1800 back. I see a couple drips in my stall now. I don't think it will make it another 10k miles without repair. :/

 

Won't void motor warranty, if they say it does that's a lie

 

The extended service contract covers control arms too I'm scared to take it in and have them say my whole warranty is voided then I get no money back :/ I have some lady at the dealership checking on swapping out my suspension and wether it voids the warranty or not but she doesn't even know what control arms are lol. Great.

 

She's gonna Fuck it up. Call service, talk to a service writer, tell them whats leaking and ask if it is covered under your warranty.

 

ya do that! any receptionist or secretary is 99% of the time never going to have a clue what they are talking about. they take and direct calls and take payments, not service cars

 

Yah I got her to get me the right answer tho. Like you said the parts that I change out. Like control arms won't be covered, but the motor still will be as long as they don't find that the problem or cause of the problemis directly related to the parts that were changed. I can't seem them trying to say bad seals will have anything to do with the lowering mods I've done. I actually think I remember noticing this spot on the bottom being a little oily about 15,000 miles ago before I even had any mods on. Thought it was just some spillage from take of the filter or somthing. Now it's worse nd I know better. But I know bad seals can't be caused by suspension. So ill probably take it in Friday and see what they say.

Oh and just to clarify that spot that is leaking on the front of the engine is the timing cover right? It's that cover in the last picture I posted of the leaks. Seems like those bottom bolts of the cover are always wet
