    I see.

Does anyone know if chopping off the muffler before the axle makes the exhaust louder? (Which I don't want.) I'm a little concerned that if the pipe has a down-turn on it, then the sound of the exhaust might "echo" between the pavement and the bottom of the truck. I'd hate to chop off the end of the exhaust and then think, "Crap... I shouldn't have done that." I think a new OEM exhaust is over $300 to replace.

i removed the stock tip and had an exhaust shop weld a turn down on the stock muffler. it sounded like stock.

I learned a bunch of stuff today...

The X-Runner Bilsteins are a lot stiffer than the OEM shocks. I can easily compress the OEM shocks but I can't budge the Bilsteins. I've seen people post that the Bilsteins aren't very stiff, so I guess those people must be way stronger than I am!

The Dupli-Color caliper paint isn't very tough :( I barely bumped a caliper while while taking off one of the OEM wheels and chipped the paint. That's frustrating. The caliper paint I used years ago on my car was tough as nails. Grrr.

The VHT hight temp paint isn't very tough either. I bumped one of my painted drums with the edge of the wheel while trying to take it off, and it put a big chip in the paint. GRRRRR!!!!! I'm not sure what I hate worse, the 15" OEM wheels for fitting so tight against the brakes or the crappy paint.

The Air Ride air bag kit doesn't work with StreeTaco blocks :( The lower mounting plate is suppsed to hook around a leg of the U-bolt, but it can't because the StreeTaco block's base plate is a lot longer than the OEM block, making the U-bolt leg too far away (as shown below). When I'm feeling more abitious, I guess I'll have to cut about an inch of metal away from the mounting plate so the hook hooks.

What do you guys do with this emergency brake bracket that bolts to the leaf spring (pictured below)? With the blocks installed, this bracket seems to bend the cable at a bad angle. I use my emergency brakes a lot and they cost a ton to get replaced (been there, done that), so I want to make sure I don't end-up wearing a hole in the casing. I'm inclined to think I should just cut-off the bracket as I'm not sure of what use it is anyway!??!

For the exhaust thing earlier I'd just cut e end off and buy one of those tips that extend out like 5 inches and turn down towards the ground. That's what I'd do, but I'm at 4 inches and never hit the exhaust and I run my truck super hard till the rear wheels have broken lose lol..

Thanks for posting bout the air lift. Almost bout it. Got the Roadmaster active suspension kit hoping that helps my issues and ill post on Tuesday when I get it.

Weird about the embrace bracket I haven't rubbed my e rake at all?

It works super good with my bike in the back but i hve it cranked on the highest setting so it raised me up a bit. I gotta lower the tension down and see if my truck drops back down. it should, ill keep you guys posted. barely fits behind the driver side qa1 tho. BARELY!

Progress has been kind of slow on my build, but there has been progress none-the-less. I'm kind of glad I didn't do anything with the Air Ride kit yet as now I'm having second thoughts after seeing jmarquez808's Road Master solution.

Anywho, I got my BLHM done. I'm glad I took my time on this mod as it is very easy to mess-up.

Got my parts back from the paint shop. They did a nice job... the paint is really shiny and all the plastic texture is gone. Hopefully the paint won't chip off; I guess time will tell. I ordered some 3M VentureShield, but it sounds like I need to give the paint some time to cure before putting the clear bra on.

    Painted mirror covers...

Crappy picture of the back dropped 4" (The front of the truck is on jack stands, making everything look weird)...

New Raybestos rotors with black paint coating to hopefully prevent the rotors from turning into balls of rust...

I'm working on the front end as time permits to put the DJM arms on. Hopefully I can make some progress on that this Saturday.
