    are they too big or small or something? (i'm pretty sure the 5-Lug and 6-lug truck's LCA have the same mounting point type and size)

    Glad this thread is gaining majority atention. It's a broad spectrum look on what our Taco's are capable of. All the negative coments will be noted, but disregarded due to close minded opinianated personnel that feel they must be heard...

    I loo forward to all comments, but from the overall consensus of this thread, I am positive that TORSPD, TOON, and I have brought a different aproach to modding a Pre Runner or 4X4:cool:

    I've been considering a lowering job for some time, now. It would make it easier for the Wife and dogs to get in. So, you used Tundra lowering springs? Is this correct? I'd like to see a write-up on this modification. Looks good, OP.

    I ended up using Eibach springs on the QA1 coilovers I have.

    With the Tundra Racing Kit it comes with adapters to adjust the heights of the OEM struts. Baiscally a drop spacer for the spring. Very simple and keeps the factory ride. Just lower.

    i really like the look. have you done a saw bar in the rear? i think i’m going to lift but if i don’t like it i may lower a bit like you did. i have to have 4wd for snow. but i also nee to tow.

    after i do a few things this year i’m going to save for an old 80’s or early 90’s toy pickup/4runner maybe even see if i can find a fj40. and wheel it instead of my ’07 i don’t want to fuck it up at all off roading.

    I cannot speak for Roxspin, but after seeing the difference between the Helwig and Addco sway bars, I am hands down going to be adding the Addco. The Helwig just has poorer components, and is cheaply made. Despite the higher price tag. That doesn't made sense. Seen one after about a year, and it had multiple rust spots. :(

    LEER Shell with dome lights operated with 3 way switches, aux backup lights with relay and 3 position switch, modified wiring to compass/temp display and clock to include switch that disables dimming function (poor man's DRL solution), Scan Gauge 2
    To each his own.......

    probably gets better mileage like that, 4x4 for snow, 4x4 for boat ramps, handles better, etc.

    I drove an X runner before I bought my 07 Taco. The so low as to be useless first gear killed it for me. If it had the 5 sp auto it would have been a sell!
    Anyone else feel the same?

    Back on topic, a 4x4 at the height of a 5-lug makes perfect sense to me. For me a truck is a cab with a usable bed to haul things in. The 4x4 is just 4 inches more to lift shit in.

    If toyota made a 5-lug height 4x4 I'd have seriously consider it, but not if they tack on those ugly fender flares.
