Im another who is interested in SLIGHTLY lowering my '98 SR5 - but can find little to nothing on how to do it at all - much less properly. Seems the 4X4 guys all want to raise their trucks and the 2WD crowd wants only to lower them - the yin and yan of Tacomas!
My Tac is a daily driver with 304K miles, and as mentioned elsewhere, I never offroad and use the 4WD only occasionally in the winter to get through slush or other slippery stuff. So I don't need even the stock ride height. I would like to lose an inch or two forward and aft so that it's just easier to deal with and my 4' 11"" wife can get in and out easier. Plus I think it will look better, and not like its standing on its tippy-toes all the time.
I can probably do what the 2WD guys do in the back - go with one of the fiberglass lowering springs. Forward is another matter. Again, nothing much published about it, at least that I can find. Every time I look under there and prognosticate, I keep thinking someone could come up with a drop-spindle arrangement like is used in the '50s and '60s cars to get them down — it basically relocates the axle hole 2" or so higher up on the spindle, which would get the front end down while maintaining the same steering/suspension geometry. Of course, the reality is a lot more complicated - you'd have to also raise the caliper mounting bolts and probably shorten the upper arm. You couldn't go much more than 2" because the tie rod end would hit the wheel. Blah blah blah. Anyway, if anyone knows of something like this that already exists, I'd appreciate knowing about it. Again, I'm not interested in lowering the truck until its flat on the ground liek some of the guys here. Just down a couple of inches. Thanks much!

I have a 2019 SR and the wifey hats the truck. How low can one be lowered? Does it cost big bucks to have it done? Does it void the warranty? I am no motor head unfortunately. I may need to wait for warranty to expire?
