    ^thats a sick brace!
hey guys, does it crack installing it, or does it crack over time? if its during install you can crack a frame welding incorrectly just as easy as cracking a frame drilling it. If it happens over time thats crazy. Maybe the holes could be just a little bigger then the bolts and it moving around? idk. Im very interested in reading about this so id appreciate any links. i was going to go with an out of box bolt on but now i need to know more :(

I can see any frame cracking over time if someone didn't do a good install or guys daily driving around smacking the frame against the axel with out stiffening up the suspension

Here is my old 1999 taco that was featured in Sport Truck magazine back in 2000. The "totally tweaked" thing was them... not me. Truck had gotten in a collision a month after buying, ordered pre runner fenders (back then standards didn't have the flare) and grill. body shop modified that bumper to match lines of the fender. VIS then decided to produce the bumper for Tacomas...

I remember this Tacoma. Dude when I had got my 98, I had always driven by VIS to just stare at that bumper that was on display there. At the time I was like 19, my parents werent having it lol. Your truck brings back a lot of memories.

awesome! I had gotten an email from someone way back then saying they traded in their old 22r for a taco because of the truck and I was like WHOA. Do you remember the ad for the bumper had my truck on it but in front of my house? Was hilarious... they never paid me royalties...bastards! I was 20 at the time. Man... memories indeed. I called them out on it since they watermarked the picture and they changed it to another truck. They never did get the lines in running from the fenders properly. I didn't let them use mine as a base to clone from.

Never saw the ad, sucks they didnt pay you for using your vehicle.

I had some company using my truck's image on ebay for the longest time. They photoshopped black headlights on it so they could actually sell black tacoma headlights lol. I never did hit them up about it tho.

Actually just found it again: http://www.ebay.com/itm/2001-2004-T...amp-/381227371047?hash=item58c2ec0a27&vxp=mtr

Be advised on the DJM... Locally in Hawaii I have heard of more than one occasion of the lower control arms, the ones that bare the load, failing at the welds causing breakage of that welded joint. The extent of the carnage is unknown and I have not personally experienced this but I do not use DJM for this reason... Spacer drop or coil drop would be better IMHO...

I believe they updated the arms. I've had mine for 2 years and no problems

I used the 1.7" drop coils from xiiperformance but measured before and after height at the same points and achieved an actual drop of 2.25"... I think the difference in drop was due to the fact I am on a base sr5 and the shocks are different than the xrunners bilsteins... Information indicates that if I were to swap shocks to xrunners bilsteins I would actually come back up 0.5"

That's good to hear! I would hate to be that guy that had a broken weld and consequently lose control of my truck while driving... Let alone viewing the carnage afterwards
