    Happy Holidays,

I have a question, which trim has the lowest ground clearance? I'd like my mother to be able to drive the tacoma and shes kind of short. Also , how secure is the factory tonneau cover?

I frequently drive my grandmother, just get good step bars. Mine grabs the ohh shit handle and step bars to get in.

All 3rd gens have the same ground clearance, whether 4x4 or 4X2

There is no X-runner on 3rd gen.

for a 2016 tacoma (this is the 3rd gen forum), yes.

for prior years, there are differences and vanilla thunder is correct as to the models.

The actual seat height or floor height is not the same. OR is higher. Just my impression after driving a loaner SR5.

    You'll have to get a 2015 4x2 for a low rider.

How does having the same lug nut pattern relate to ride height?

Thanks for the explanation, I have never heard of that (this is my first Tacoma coming from 4x WRXs). Although, isn't that generalizing it a bit? For example, the OR vs. Sport models do not share the same spring & shock setup. Wouldn't that also be a factor in the ride height? Also, my Sport definitely sits lower in the front.
