Yes, the five lug hubs went away with the introduction of the 3rd gen.

Kind of agree - it is too tall. I miss the size of the 1997 TACO V6 I had. This 2016 is gorgeous but it's taller than I'd like. If I could drop it an inch or two I'd do it..

This thread reminds me of the time I saw a lowered rice burner hit some bad railroad tracks at about 60mph. That was a major f*ckup that cost the dude his car and almost cost him his life. I'll probably go to hell for laughing.

For anyone wondering, I decided to keep the suspension stock. Lowered trucks look cool, but that ground clearance is so nice and I like being able to thud through potholes without worrying about busting up my truck. The KFC in my town has what could politely be called a pothole or accurately called a crater. I was at KFC the other night and I went over it and I thought to myself "Wow, that was a bad one. Glad I didn't lower it."

I wonder if more lowering kits will appear once forced induction options do. I would for sure drop it a few inches if I was bolting on a lot more horsepower. Just fine for now, though.

I could see dropping it about 2"... install some custom 2.5" Shocks with Interal Bypass or Bottom Out Control so those craters won't even cause a flinch. Some nice light 285/60R18 tires on forged wheels, larger brakes, AWD transfer case.....

I’m bummed that this didn’t work out. I was looking forward to seeing a lowered truck with a build thread. It’s always nice to have a little variety in my daily Tacomaworld scrolling.

This is exactly what I needed. Imagine the downforce with not 1 but 2 spoilers.

Could just put the smaller diameter tires. I really liked the older 5 lug trucks.
