Okay guys, I've put on my flame suit for this. So I'll ask, has anyone ever lowered a Tacoma?

I dont think many have done it, but lowering tacomas used to as easy as buying the 2wd model that already was lower, had car tires, and was a bare bones truck. Its kinda sad that most dont offer the lowered base models anymore.

Why did I ask this question? Have you guys noticed that almost all pickup trucks (now-a-days) you need a step ladder to check the oil? The Tacoma is not that bad. I don't think I'll be a rock crawler, just a daily driver with some towing. For my taste I'd like to see the Tacoma just 2" lower. But after watching some of the youtube videos, it looks like a major project that I would not want to do to a new truck. Thanks for the replies

I feel you, Tom. All of the manufacturers full size trucks are laughable in bed height - quite honestly to the point where they’re becoming unusable. Have you purchased a Tacoma yet? I see your bio says “Looking 2020 Tacoma”

I disagree, single cab, older 2wd GM 1500's should absolutely be lowered and then a Chinese turbo kit should be strapped to it for all the cheap fun.

Meh, my first truck was a 2001 F150 that was lowered. I still miss that thing. Could make that truck slide corners and burn rubber like no other truck I have owned could

I’ve actually been thinking of doing this myself. There are a lot of Tacoma’s in my area and every single one has the exact same mods 3 inch lift 285s raptor grill and so on. I thought it might be fun to drop it down and make a street truck out of it not sure I ever will though.

It's okay, I built it for me. It spent more time offroad and hauled more stuff than most of the lifted trucks on TW :goingcrazy:

Lowered and truck shouldn't be used in the same sentence.
