You should go for a ride in a cheaply done 1500, it's a blast. I wouldn't DD it like my Tacoma, but they are some cheap fun.

I rode in a cheaply done Mitsubishi once in high school, the ride was awful.

I'm talking like 99-2004ish GM 1500 trucks with the 4.8/5.3.

Only problem with those is that if you drove them hard the 4l60 would just fall out.

The best thing about my old 97 2wd ranger was the low height made it so easy to actually USE the bed. I think lowering (**NOT slamming) a truck a little looks good and very functional. So many people here act like your truck needs to be a lifted off-road machine with huge tires and you have to hit the trails every weekend or you don't deserve a Tacoma.

At the end of the day it's your money and truck, do whatever the hell you want.

Not mine but here's a good example:

Only issue I have is after a day of riding getting my bike up and over the tail gate is a task with my noodle arms. Other than that I don't fine loading stuff in the box that big of a deal. the new rangers and Colorado's are worse for bed height.

Not yet, still working on just what I want in it. Then the next problem will be finding it. So far the TRD Sport is leading the list. I'd also like the LED package and maybe the TRD premium sport package.

    16’ Tacoma TRD Sport
Thanks mate! First standup? PM me if you’ve got any questions.

I have a 16’ TRD Sport on 265/65/R17s. I’m a towering 5’6”, and the bed height is totally accessible; though I definitely wouldn’t want to go any higher. With the Tacoma it helps a ton that the bed walls are pretty short compared to the Colorado and Ranger.
