Been a while since I've looked at this thread; Why does a truck you've owned for ten years have less than 13K miles?

 

I just made 50k this past weekend on my 2014, which is a milestone for me. Certainly not the lowest on average around here and that's not my goal. When I bought it in 2017, it had 15k miles on it.
The weekends are when I put all the miles on, several hundred at a time. Which is a lot for Hawaii when you can only drive so far.
I've made such good use of the Tacoma, the journey's been priceless.

By the way, mine no longer qualifies as "low mileage"; Mine is a 2010, purchased in September 2009, which is inching closer and closer to 122K miles!

 

I've put 5k on mine since last october. up to 45k now!

2015 OR with 14,091 when I bought it this March. Now it sits a shade over 32k. Still had the original ATs on there, hardly dry-rotted.

It was a CPO so the dealership warrantied everything through 2028.

At just over 139K miles, my truck doesn't have ridiculously high mileage, but for a 2010 that was manufactured in August 2009 and sold in September 2009 it definitely no longer has "low" miles!

 

Twins! Is your truck automatic or manual, and living in New Hampshire have you had to get the frame replaced yet? My truck just got approved for frame replacement due to a hole in the inner right side of the frame next to the catalytic converter, but the new frame is not going to be here for at least a couple months...

Damn, that's low; Not the lowest I've ever seen but still pretty damn low!

 

The funny thing is that for probably the first eight years or so after my dad bought me the truck I still have, I didn't drive it that often and thus had abnormally low miles; I only put like 7,400 miles on it in the first year I had it. My truck was purchased new on September 30th, 2009 and had 20 miles on the clock when we drove it off the lot; Most of the oil changes and other routine maintenance stuff does not show up on my truck's Carfax report. Pennsylvania requires a yearly emissions test and safety inspection, and those do get logged in the Carfax report along with the mileage at the time of the inspection, so here's a pretty accurate look at how many miles I've put on my truck per year since we bought it...

September 19th, 2009 (First inspection): 3 miles
September 30th, 2009 (Night we bought it): 20 miles
October 7th, 2010: 7,414 miles
August 31st, 2011: 13,130 miles
October 26th, 2012: 21,934 miles
October 31st, 2013: 32,243 miles
September 10th, 2014: 40,150 miles
October 20th, 2015: 53,812 miles
October 11th, 2016: 67,038 miles
October 17th, 2017: 77,719 miles
October 2nd, 2018: 88,351 miles
September 6th, 2019: 104,235 miles
August 17th, 2020: 116,279 miles
August 16th, 2021: 136,837 miles

 

2015 is the first year I put more than 12K on it because I finished college, got a real job, and went to a lot more car shows; My annual mileage reached an all-time high in 2016 and then tapered off in 2017 and 2018 before breaking the 2015-2016 record of 14K. 2018-2019 takes 2nd place for the most miles I put on my truck in a year, at about 18K (I hit 100K in July 2019). That was the record for over a year, because COVID hit in 2020 and I did a hell of a lot less driving as a result; I logged just shy of 12K miles between September 2019 and August 2020, but then blew even my 2019 record out of the water in 2021 when I started doing DoorDash again in January of that year! Between inspections on August 17th, 2020 and August 16th, 2021 (364 days) respectively, I put 20,558 miles on my truck!
