I know this is old thread but im in a jam. 2am and i give up till morn. Took front passenger side apart and assembled w/ icon co, LR UCA. Had no prob with anything exept i cant get the castle nut on the ball joint taper far enough to get the hole showing for cotter pin. Needs to be torqued 45 ft lbs. I used the impact wrench and it goes but not enough. Any tips would be great. Pulling hair out. I'm soo close.

Cranked on it and ended up stripping the castle nut. No damage to the taper. I put the oem uca back on with no prob. Icon's are in and its rides awesome. I dont know why the uca wouldnt go down enough, as everything was loose. Gonna drive it like this and see how it goes. Alignment and tires in a couple weeks. I went with the Light Racing UCA's cause of the sealed joint. Might go with a uni-ball style afterall. I cant understand why the oem went back on smooth and a brand new product wouldnt. Maybe the taper is off. Idk. I got almost 3" of lift at the " factory preset of approx. 2" " from the Icon CO's. No vibes which is good. Anyway, thanks for the input. Tomorrow i'm putting on the Icon rear resi's.

Definitely call SPC. Also confirm part numbers.

If you run into this again. Try the stock jack between the ball joint and the top of the fenderwell and put some pressure on the arm.

Gonna check the numbers tonight. Kinda puts a damper on things, not too bad though. I pushed till 2 am last night to get stuck on that damn nut. Tired. The video install shows it going in easily like my oem uca? Trucks looking much better though. Really rides nice although it need alignment. 50k on the origanal Dunflops, gonna get new sneakers and alignment in a week or so. Still undecided on tires, maybe Duratracs or Open Country's. Hopefully i'll get the Uca's in before that. Got a wheelers 3 pk. ready for tomorrow along with the Icon rear resi's.
