Getting my butt kicked on engine position and headers; using cxracing mounts and headers. We had to cut most of head off and smash pipes to fit passenger side. The driver side had to smash pipes and cut collector off. Now we have some pipes, we are moving forward with reinforcements of frame/engine cage and wiring. We found several shops that will fab custom headers. 20201026_170137.jpg 20201026_170137.jpg

Are those long tube? I’ve got s10 truck headers and I had to ‘massage’ one pipe on the drivers side for the steering shaft and that was it. Now granted I’m sure the 2nd gen is a little bit wider than the 1st gen back there.

We went with front sump to use automatic tranny and keep 4wd. My son finally will make time to push project. He has a 4 link and full float 40 spline spooled rear axle assembly he wants me to try. 20201027_182240.jpg

    Drivers side
    pass side

And I used lsx innovations universal slotted mounts and made my own tabs for the frame.

yeah the front sump makes sense since your rear side steer vs the 2nd gen front side steer.

Headaches for me, spent 2 days on moving motor back and forth before settling where it is; forward/last slot cxracing mounts.

My son doesn't seem to be worried about any of it, his problem is time available issues. He just won some dyno comp with his stock bottom spinning 1020hp.

My son mentioned engine plates front and mid. This motor has cam springs harden pushrods, but he said there is more to come.
