Put these trick 5x4.5 to 6x5.5 wheel adapter/spacers on the trailer so I can run the factory TRD pro wheels on the trailer. IMG_4634.jpg IMG_4635.jpg IMG_4636.jpg

While I was down there, I figured I might as well crawl down under the old truck and see if I was right. I was.

the transmission breather line was getting bombarded by my exhaust, melted, and plugged itself. This caused the trans to pressure up, and push the rear output seal out, into the cavity of the tcase, losing all my fluid while it was parked, explaining why I have 0 movement. What a bummer such a stupid mistake caused this. Good news is, whoever buys it needs a 15$ part to fix it.

Do you have a photo of your exhaust routing near that area of the vent hose?

And what you're saying is that with some side cutters, a zip tie, and some transmission fluid and it will drive???

The exhaust dumps literally right where those hoses are.

and you’re forgetting that it needs a new output seal, because if I fill it, it will just piss it back out, but yeah. Pretty much. Driveshafts and tcase need to come out, old seal out, new seal in, tcase back in, and driveshafts back in. Also needs a new hood, hinges, windshield, and hood pins. And it needs an exhaust made.

What I'm hearing here is that you have it figured out and just need to get er done? Be a shame to not drive the truck again after the brutal uphill battle you've had. So like $50 in parts excluding the whole windshield/hood situation?

Figured out yeah, motivated to do any of it, no. I’m still on the train of I want this thing sold and out of my life before I convince myself to keep it. I want to have a paid off truck and some cash to spend on the house. Sounds a lot nicer than keeping my truck.

I get the frustration but man that is such a small thing to give up over! New output seal is like 4 hours of work on the high end including fixing the line and refilling.

Will sell a lot easier running. And you can just take the hood off and go for a rip just to get something out of it

See, that is 4 hours more than I want to spend on this thing. And I’d be scared of breaking more shit in the quick rip that would make it harder to sell.

there’s also what I think is engine oil around the filter block. I think the filter seal is gouged or something. I discounted it all as trans fluid everywhere the night I got stranded, but after looking at it today it looks like engine oil.

I’d rather this truck go to someone who has the time to commit to this thing. It still needs a cage too. Just too much. I’ve started putting more time into my career and flying airplanes and it’s been a good change of pace. I’ll still enjoy my 3rd gen and trailer. Went camping last night and had a lot of fun.

Still. Do you have any pictures readily available of how that exhaust routing is?

Not handy I don’t. I have an album of like 3000 photos of this thing. Can’t find anything in it.

The trailer got a matching set of TRD pro wheels and KO3’s. Need wider fenders maybe

I’ll help with shock tuning. Just get at least 3.0x5 tube bypasses

I scrolled through quite a lot before asking that question. Sad. All post haste, but had it been posted, I bet one of us would have noticed it before it created a problem.

I knew about it from day 1. 454 told me about it when I picked the truck up, and I figured it would be fine until I got my exhaust made. Didn’t know it would be almost 2 months before the exhaust shop would take it in. Literally all my fault. Some stupid zip ties and me not being lazy would’ve prevented this

920AH of lithium for the trailer. Should be able to run on batteries only for 2 weeks

:eek::eek: I would hope so. I don't see room for a solar panel, maybe a portable/blanket panel you toss out at camp. Did you get a dc-dc charger too or do you plan to charge at home only? I have 200AH in battery power for my wedge camper but I also have 200w of solar on the roof and a 40a dc-dc charger.

Yeah, I bought a 40a dc-dc charger. I don’t have any room for panels and don’t want to deal with that honestly. I will also charge at home.

Definitely going to want fender flares on the trailer so you don't bust out the back window on the truck, especially if you put a shell on it.
