Mines only got like 130k on the odo. But over size tires since 20k, and heavy abuse since 80k or so

Hmmm, My worthless .02 cents is the Magnuson supercharger has no where near the power & torque the NA aluminum 5.3 LS has with just a small Summit RV cam. Still running cast iron manifolds & cats (they are high flow i.e. will not keep the CEL off) but no watering eyes pulling in & out of the garage. Especially when the door from the garage enters the center of the kitchen going in and out of the house. Hell I use a little Brake Clean I get yelled at for the smell… I was shocked on how much the cats cut down the smell and watering eyes. The tune hasn’t been changed yet.
Ryan, I’m still in need of your Extreme Talents with a MiG to install another set of notches and weld rear sway-bar mounts to the diff.
Not to change the subject but have you been keeping an eye out for those little creatures that like to make their homes in sweet old Stangs?

Bought a trd pro tailgate spoiler, sanded off all of the texture, and paint matched it.

Did a full detail on the truck today. Also tackled laundry list of items.

retightened the trans cooler lines at the bed bulkhead, started to seep a little fluid, one of the 45* fittings was slightly loose.

put a spare tire tool kit in the pro eagle box

refilled the coolant reservoir and radiator
side note: I want to get a coolant reservoir bottle that mounts to the cage tie ins above the radiator, to hopefully help with burping and filling, since it’ll definitely be the highest spot in the loop. Does anyone have any suggestions or ideas for this?

replaced the zip tie’s with actual nuts and bolts for mounting the MSD relay and bus bar in the bed. Zip ties got all sun fucked and broke, and the msd was just slamming around back there.

zip tied the roof light bar wire so it’s not flying around either

Covered the drive floor in duck tape, since the aluminum on the butyl sound deadening wore through and my shoes kept getting covered in sticky butyl. This is temporary until I get an actual vinyl carpet or something.

polished up the front skid plate too.

I’ve officially got 100 miles on these new gears. At 500 miles, I’ll be doing an oil change on the engine, setting the trans fluid level, changing front and rear diff fluids, and bleeding the brakes. Should be the last bit of prep for this thing to be ready to rip again.

oh and side note, need to fix my AC. I think my arduino module is toast. I want a hardened version of it that can withstand the vibrations and heat in AZ. I was dying driving this thing around today in the 108* weather.

the truck really wasn’t a fan either. Coolant temps got up to 201, which is the norm for GM stuff but I have a 170* thermostat in this thing, so it makes me a little nervous. It stabilized at 201 though, was about an hour in stop and go city traffic, lots of lugging the engine. Am I being stupid for getting nervous about this? Or should I put a fat pusher fan on the front to assist the pullers? I think the elevated coolant bottle will help big time though.

My water temp runs between 200-221 on any normal day of driving or wheeling the piss out of it. Florida summer. Factory thermostat. Most of what I read says these engines thrive around 210. I wouldn’t be worried at all

Day 3 of dailying the taco went as expected. Super smooth, no issues so far. I’ve got about 150 miles on the new gears so far.

Technically you should do a few 15 minutes drives and let the diff fully cool in between, then drive for like 500 miles, then change the fluid... But who has time for that. I just built the rear diff in my 88 runner after breaking the ring gear, and I'll probably just commute with it this week, change fluid and just run it.

hahahaha a few more. Probably end of next week beginning of the week after.

I mean you’re right, it will be fine, but I want to follow ECGS’s guidelines to a T so they can’t deny me warranty down the road if I grenade a pumpkin. It sucks they don’t offer rem and cryo. Would’ve done that instead of this whole deal

    Those are beautiful.

beggars can’t be choosers though. I’m just happy I got assembled thirds. The annoying break in is worth it. I don’t have the ability to actually do the gear swap itself

Well had a tuning sesh today with the engine tuner. set up a switch to help the truck chop a little bit more, just for fun, and it did not go well. Truck didnt like it at all, so we reverted it and all is happy again.

however, the truck is starting to be a POS again. One of my rad fans isn't turning on when commanded to, but intermittently. The MSD relay is showing that the channel is erroring out, for being overloaded/over temped. When I jumper around the relay, the fan kicks on and spins just fine. They're soft start Steele fans too, so im not sure why is doing this intermittently.

I also figured out why the AC stopped working. My POS Arduino circuit melted, and all the wires got fragile and some broke because of the heat and vibration. so im working on getting a custom Arduino shield made to solve this problem. Hopefully just one connector to tap back into the AC ECU and we'll have cold air again. Its too damn hot to not have.
