@Pittsy, @Yota X and @WormSquirts. Thanks for the information Andy the gentleman who doing mine is using a harness from LSXspecialties from Facebook. I talked Andy into using the LSX harness after speaking with him. Andy the gentleman who owns LSXspecialties specializes in wiring harness. At one time he owned a small shop that did nothing but LS swaps but it sounded like it just got to be too much. Hell, he has a 15 to 17 week backlog just for harnesses. I made a comment “Buddy you need to hire some help!” He said he been there done that, this stuff takes someone with a special mindset. I will say he does incredible work.
(God how confusing it that Andy, Andy and Randy (me) Hahaha…
But seriously thinks for the info Gentlemen…
    *Edit*
Here’s some more information on LSXspecialties, I found a small clip on Sloppy mechanics on his work.

Why would you want that in a caged truck?

Because on the street I'll be wearing the factory 3 point harness. I want all those safety systems in place on the street.

I want to put my airbag ECU power on a switch from my switch pros, that way if I go jump the truck, the g sensors don't set off my bags when don't want them to.

I would personally ditch the ABS regardless, because it's pretty much a death trap in snow, mud, dirt, or anything that's not dry pavement, in which case, abs isn't really needed anyway.

I guess I could throw the ABS pump on a switch too. Id rather have it and not need it then want/need it and not have it.

I have my ABS on a toggle killswitch under the dash.. super easy to do and I just turn it off when needed.

Also if you have side curtain airbags, you'll want to get rid of those with the cage for sure

    Hmmm,
@WormSquirts maybe you being North of the border may not need AC but @Pittsy and myself living in convection oven AZ are going to need AC. I ditched the Truck Accessories in favor of the Vette Accessories. The Vette accessories are 1.5” shorter giving more room for two 12” electric Spal fans and the aluminum shroud I had made for and arm and a leg. Anyway I purchased used accessories from an 04 Vette. Now we are having a hard time finding a manifold to bolt on the back of the Vette OEM AC compressor to build AC lines. What are you two doing for AC? And anyone else who may have done a Swap? I’m all ears!
I really like to be able to use the Toyota AC compressor but I’m 99% sure that would very difficult!

    Thanks guys for any advice!

Yeah, after reading this thread I think any ideas I had about doing an engine swap if/when my head gaskets go is out the window (and I don't even have to worry about retarded inspection/emissions testing). I think I'll start bugging my neighbor about selling me his 100 Series again.

Hell.. I spent almost half of what I originally paid for my little commuter 86 Yota pickup to have the AC completely overhauled here in AZ.. Its a necessity. lol

Im just going to have AN lines made for the AC. I haven't really researched that part, besides using a GM compressor. Mainly, because I don't need it to get the truck running. I used to have a 1985 K10 with no factory AC out here. It wasn't fun, but I got over it. I need to get this thing running, then I can worry about being comfortable.

It's probably not as hard as I'm making it look. This is my first time doing an engine swap of any kind, plus im young and inexperienced + cant fabricate. so there's that, lol. Some dude on here ls swapped a 3rd gen in what seemed like 3 days.

Taking her home tonight. @454Motorsports did an incredible job. Its going to go back to 454 in about 2 months to have the front bumper built, engine crossover made, and some other finish items, like having the inner fenders powder coated after all the LS stuff is good to go.

I've got experience with several swaps on older vehicles, the newer stuff confounds me somewhat so definitely don't feel bad (I'm only middle aged). I've had this Tacoma since '06 and really think I want to go back to a Land Cruiser anyways but I want to keep the Tacoma for hauling duty.

Well what the Hell, where’s the fun in that?
Maybe some one will come up with a kit and you can thank the pioneer’s!! :hattip:
Besides, if someone can LS swap a MINI copper the Taco should be a piece of cake…
Plus when I get mine finished w/ the baby aluminum 5.3, the truck torque cam, .720 overdrive, back to stock 3.31 gear, the engine will be turning a whopping 2,101 rpm’s @ 75mph and probably getting 28 mpg.
    :fingerscrossed:

Just wait until you get older…

Hey if you can come up with the kit I'll definitely take a hard look at it!

One of the cars I helped rebuild involved dropping one of the small Buick V8s into and then swapping that for a race built Rover V-8 in an MGB, that count? It used to be a fairly common swap back in the '60 and '70s when they were still common track cars. That car was scary fast but got squirrely over 140- or so I heard.

I got news for ya- you got two choices, and as much as getting older sucks, and it really does, it beats the alternative. :bananadead:

<--- Mid 50s and got three doctor's appointments this week (one was just a six month dentist cleaning today but it still sucks when you're looking at your calendar. :help:).
