LS6 Swap 2nd Gen Build + New Tundra

Dual diaphragm tundra booster and MC are in. Man that was not a fun job. Jd inner fenders needed some trimming, had to put it in and take it out like 6 times to get the rod length correct. Still need to bleed, but man I’m glad it’s over hopefully.

I also installed a second Derale race cooler for the transmission. haven’t taken pictures of it yet though. I need to get a piece of steel to reinforce the middle mount between the two coolers. Still need to figure out a good mud shield.

 

New GX just dropped at work.

 

For anyone wondering; the sos performance MC is not the same as a sequoia MC, despite what’s said. Way different:this explains why I had a dead pedal when I slapped this MC on the tundra booster. Swapped it out for a tundra one and we got super firm brakes.

@Dm93 do we know the pressures at which the binary switch on the ac system turns on and off at? Or the thread size of the sensor? I brought it to ace hardware and can’t find the thread size, so I’m looking into other options for binary pressure switches

 

Thread size I couldn't tell you, pressures according to the FSM are off below 28 psi and above 455 psi and on at anything between.

That looks like the right thread.

 

I have the OEM pressure switch but I couldn’t find out what thread it is. Maybe it’s also 1/8 NPT. I didn’t even think to check pipe threads at Ace when I brought it there earlier. Was only checking bolt threads, standard and metric.

 

Looks kinda like 1/8 o-ring but it may be metric.

 

Where on the AC system does this sensor go?

 

On the stock system it's on the liquid line just to the right of the radiator.

 

Dual Derale 65861’s. We’re not gonna have any trans cooling issues, no matter what I throw at this thing. Also stepped up to 8an lines for way more flow. 1500 CFM of air flow through these two. 250,000 BTU’s of heat extraction per hour.

I still want to come up with a beauty shroud for the part inside the bed where the bed holes are exposed, and created a mud shield in the wheel well. Future things…

 

Two methods for sale. These were my bed spares, never driven on. $400.

 

Using this for my binary switch. The correct bungs for the Toyota sensor or anything else was hard to source. This was easy.

 

My built 4L80E from Maximum is on the dyno as we speak. I should have it soon!

get these. The Toyota studs are scary short.

 

All my Trans cooler lines are made. We got all of the sizes of the ac components dialed in, so he’s gonna come bad with all the fittings and get those made for me some time in the next week. Getting close!

 

Any transmission delivery lately?

 

Not yet but very soon. I guess it just got finished Friday night. I’m going to have them send it directly to 454, hes going to throw it in when he makes a new crossmember
