Got a huge deal on a brand new Holley 12.3 pro dash. The guy making my center console is going to make a gauge cluster bezel for this too.

Rugged M1 radio and intercom system. Man it doesn’t look like an expensive setup, but they nickel and dime you with all the shit you need.

I got 7 mini xlr flush mount plugs to go in my center console, so there won’t be any extra wiring. 5 headsets, 2 PTT’s, and the billet beauty plate to go over the mount. This truck’s exhaust is loud enough it’s needed.

Also just ordered the evil Offroad 3rd brake light with NMO mount. The rugged came with a magnetic roof mount and cable, but I don’t want to drill extra holes in my roof when such a clean option exists. Plus a 3rd chase light up high is nice.

Brand new, unopened got it for $1700. They're 2500+ with tax.

Im not opposed to adding more mufflers, but I'm just gonna let Paul do his thing. Fender exits are cool anyways.

The new Starlink Mini is on the way for the tacoma. I got a magnet mount so I can swap it between the raptor and the tacoma if needed if we dont take both trucks, but now Ill have a "way out" if my truck grenades or breaks in the middle of nowhere.

Bought these mini XLR terminations for my headsets and PTT’s to be flush mounted in my center console to be made.

in an effort to save myself a headache and also make the console guy’s life easier, I’m soldering some 22GA wire to the back of the terminations and sleeping it, that way it can actually be installed in the center console, and once it’s done being made I can solder these 5 pin xlr pigtails to the terminations and plug them into the intercom.

Just got word the driveline shop is all finished up with my truck. He left the front driveshaft off because he thought the front diff pinion nut was over torqued? But afaik it’s never been taken off, and the truck has nearly 300k miles on it. I think it’s not an issue, but I’ll find out more what they meant tomorrow. 454 is picking up the truck from them tomorrow AM and will check my rear pinion angle to make sure it’s still good to go. If it is, it’s play time

On my way to go pick up the truck right now!

Just finished up making these female mini XLR flying leads for the intercom system. 5 5pin’s and 2 3 pins’s. 5 headsets and 2 PTT’s. I want them to be flush mounted to the center console, and in order to do that, you gotta order unterminated mini xlr connectors and solder wires onto them. IMG_3203.jpg IMG_3204.jpg

Wiring is a labor of love, and is what makes a build stand out from another. Could’ve just left this unsleeved cause it would be hidden inside the center console, but wanted to make it nice. It’s gotta be serviceable later on.

First drive under its belt. No issues so far.

I have an appointment with my tuner for Friday to adjust the transmission map. When the 4L75E was in, we had to soften the stock curves because it really liked to launch you into gear. Now, the 4L80E feels like a DCT when you first start moving, so we need to advance those curves a little bit.

One hiccup though, my trans dipstick tube is in the way of my AC evaporator fittings now. And it’s also not bolted to the bell housing because for whatever reason, it doesn’t line up. I need to find a flexible dipstick, but most of the ones I’ve seen are like 25-30”, and I need a 40”.

Dipstick gets here tomorrow. I overnighted it. I have a tuning appointment tomorrow at 4:30, then ac hose guy is supposed to show up sometime tomorrow afternoon maybe. Then Saturday I’m planning on lifting the truck up at work to throw the dipstick in. Could potentially get up there on Sunday but the truck still hasn’t had an alignment.

Trans cooler is doing its job really really well. Stays at 165 while driving around. Once the fans are commanded on at 175 it immediately cools everything back down below 165. It was 110 today too.

coolant temp was right around 185-190. A bit warmer than it was a few months ago. Might just be because of how hot it is, but also might have a little air still trapped.

Sent some datalogs to the tuner. He thinks I have a dead cylinder or two, given how much leaner the right side is than the left. I went through and unplugged every coil pack individually to see a drop in rpm and an increase in engine roughness, and the truck is still open headers so it was really hard to notice any roughness, but there was definitely a drop in rpm every time I unplugged one. Im out of ideas.
