LSD rear end no button?

    My 07 4.0 four-wheel drive rear end has the LSD sticker. It also has no traction control button. How does this LSD feature work? Automatically? Thank you my brothers and sister in advance.

    Yes. It works automatically.
    It is a mechanical LSD. There is no button.

    After 2008 they went to an Electronic version of the LSD. (With a button)

    Just remember to add the friction modifier to the differential fluid if you ever change the fluid.


    You can google the difference between the systems.

    In short the mechanical uses clutch packs in the differential.
    The Electric use the brakes. The brakes on the truck to "simulate" a LSD.
