I don’t think those bypasses would fit the Archive kit, I was told remote only. I put a 14” triple in there, kinda wish I had put a 12”.

I converted a pair of bypasses to remote - not too much work unless you don't want to take them apart.

Ahh, that’s true. Even still, a 2.5 bypass has to be the right tube layout, even with the tubes facing forward and 1.25 spacers, I’m close to rubbing tubes on articulation.

Why do you say a 12"? I thought you were extremely happy with the 14".

It's definitely a complete kit and pretty much ready for install. Not sure about the pricing, I haven't added up everything.

    Can’t utilize a 14” with soa.

You can make a SOA cycle 14" of travel, or close to it. Just takes a lot of work and the right equipment. Unless you're specifically talking about bypass'?

I’m sure it is possible, but it wouldn’t be clean travel. When I was soa with a shackle flip and extended shackles my leafs would start separating before I could fully droop out my 12” shocks. So if you were strictly rock crawling and didn’t care about leaf separation I’m sure you could run long enough shackles to droop out some 14” shocks. But at that you’re probably not utilizing the full bump travel of the shocks.

Yep, 14" is possible but you are going to get leaf separation on droop, inverted springs on bump, or a combination of both.

Likely going to have some separation on the droop and it'll be tight to utilize all of the shock stroke on bump travel. Forgive me if this is known knowledge, but what is the negative of leaf separation at droop?

I dont know how detrimental it is but when you droop out leaf springs to the point where they are separating or compress them to the point where they are inverting you are just really pushing the limits of the springs and decreasing the life span and increasing the risk of them breaking. Is it possible for them to function fine under those parameters? Sure. Is there a higher risk that they will break or wear out faster? Probably.

I had 14s with SOA prior to going long travel. It worked fine. Nothing wrong with it but I really only used about 10-11" of the travel range most of the time. You really need the perfect terrain to get it to flex the full 14".

@snowsk8air2 hit it right on the money. I am still happy, and I’ll make it work with some modifications (rewelding lower shock mount and tuning bumpstops). I’m using 4.9” shackles and it does help droop out the leafs. The main negative I have with the 14” is the bypass, IE where it sits in the tube zones at ride height right now and the lack of bump travel. I am sure glad I ordered a welded lower rod end though, that shortened up the compressed length by 1”.
