They'd be perfect - valving from King wouldn't be any different from the factory. Tuning would have to be done anyway even if it was ordered as a "first gen" application since vehicles and driving styles are unique.

For some reason I thought it had to do with the positioning of the bypass tubes or something like that, that allowed to mount properly? I’m no expert, just trying to make sure I’m getting the right stuff. So combined with the TC secondary shock hoops these will work no problem?

Yeah if they fit 2nd gens the tube layout is good for 1st gens.

Fox part # is the same, King part # is different. You'd have to call and confirm the differences.

You could definitely make it work, I'm just not sure enough if it would be a direct bolt in to their secondary shock hoop.

Cycling the suspension needs to be done either way. An 8" shock is an 8" shock. Tube layout is similar to the point where nudging the tabs back an inch wouldn't kill the function of the shocks. You could make them work.

I agree that you could make it work, if you were willing to put in a little extra effort.

An 8” standard shock could, I believe does in this case, have different ext/collapsed lengths than a spec’d shock which would require additional work to fit. Tube layout should be very similar and non issue

Edit: I forgot we are talking about a spec’d shock to begin with. Not a standard. Just questioning the difference between 1st/2nd gen. The similar Fox part # makes me believe that any difference is minimal.

    Whole lotta stuff
So he might have to change the rod-end? pretty sure he could get the desired length just by specing a different rod-end. Like @Dalandser an 8" shock is an 8" shock, and rod ends are relatively cheap.

Could be that simple. Could be more complicated.

Not all 8” shocks are equal. They have different dimensions, especially on a bypass. If TC spec’d a shorter shock body, the bypass zoning will change. So yes, they will both cycle 8” but they will do so in different areas of the travel.

Again, this is mainly in the comparison of a standard shock to spec’d. I believe @zscott has a spec’d shock to begin with which makes these comparisons irrelevant for the most part.

You can look and see the zones are almost identical if not exactly identical. As much as things are able to be slightly different - with cycling and making sure things clear you won't have an issue.

Dude idk why you don't accept people don't have to build everything like a lego set. Looking to buy everything from a parts list isn't the only way that great builds happen.

That’s not at all what I am saying. I actually believe quite the opposite if you’re willing to put in the time and have the ability.

The original question was if “x” shock would fit a pre built kit from TC. Much like a “LEGO set.” My response was only an example of part #s to show that there may be a difference between the two. I don’t know what those differences may be, which I’ve stated. I’ve also stated many times that you could make it work, if you have the ability and willing to put in the time but it may require some modifications to your pre-built kit.

I even tried to drop the conversation because it’s obviously redundant and you and I aren't speaking the same language so idk why you’re trying to call me out.

No, I’m actually building for for AutoCross. I just wanted 4x4 to pull off the line quicker and go around the little cones. I don’t understand why people want to take their trucks in the dirt. :jerkoff:
