The bypass zones would not be ideal if he's not fully cycling 10".

No sheet metal so not a problem there.
There’s the problem. I mean I guess I could move the tabs on the lca or angle them so it cycles the whole shock. But not ideal sadly

Not having paid retail on any of my shocks I'm not sure the amount you'd save on @FlapJack935 's bp's so relocating the bypass tube would have been the money saving idea if they were heavily discounted, but again not being familiar with the cost for new 3.0 races in 8" it might not save much. Did this ps return tube relocation with the help of a friend - came out nice.

Pretty sure the pure race doesn’t go down to an 8” unfortunately. And his price is pretty good paired with the no lead time. Sadly we’ve been trying to cut down on debt this year so I’m not technically in the market unless it’s a true steal. 2021 I’ll be all about getting bypasses up front on my truck.

Buy them and mount them then when you bump up to a 10” coil or a race kit you already got gnarly bypasses... will be a couple weeks before they go up on RD and Facebook/insta market place. Posted here first.
Going to 4 tubes then matching the large 4.5” finned resis I have on my 3.5s with a longer hose. Trying to keep parts interchangeable for bypasses

considering it's $2,200 for Fox bypasses... how bad are FOA shocks really?

No personal experience with them, but they have a reputation as being some of the worst shocks out there.

I had some 16" smoothies for a while to get the truck rolling, the seals literally shit oil all over the place one day after less than 5k of street (DD) miles on them, had them rebuilt by FOA free of charge, and the seals blew again in like 2k street miles. Then they told me basically "sorry" after that. It's like the Harbor Freight of the shock world...
