Wonder why he's selling it. I knew him growing up and he definitely bought the truck and I'd assume all the fab work that he didn't do with his parent's money... wondering if he is gonna pocket the 40k and say thanks daddy-o !

Surprised a young guy had a long bed. I'd expect it to be owned by a family man that was building a family hauler.

It’s true lots of guys just start out with what they got due to getting into it without knowing how the end goal may or may not fit their original build or platform. With the amount of money he spent on mods it seems he really would want a short bed for the wheel base if he only wanted a toy. You can of course shorten the wheelbase when you link yours lol

    Whole lotta stuff
I was 19 when I bought my old 2006 DCLB Prerunner. I liked the long bed so much that I bought another one 4 years later.

Indeed long beds are nice - I would have bought a DCLB first gen if there was such a thing that wasn’t $$$$$ but I camp in my truck so it’s important enough to me to forgo the performance aspect of the shorter wheelbase.

Exactly, when I got mine I was going to level it and maybe get some new wheels haha. At the time I needed it to haul dirtbikes to tracks and races every weekend.
Still use it for that now too !

All depends on what you're doing with the truck. A longer wheel base helps the truck not settle into the whoops in the desert and would be preferred for desert use. The shorter wheel base obviously helps in the tighter more technical areas, but still isn't ideal. Pick your poison.

Our size trucks usually have a shorter wheelbase unless it’s a cruiser - I guess I’m looking at full blown prerunners / 2000 / 1450 class race truck vs family toys

Full TT is shorter than a 2nd gen dcsb and a little longer than a 1st gen. So...2nd gen aclb so you can push shocks forward more, 4 link rear, scoot the seats into the back seat, push the engine back about a foot, center mount 9” front diff and j-arm kit and BAM you got yourself a 4wd Tacoma trophy truck

Exactly, all the steel cab race trucks I've seen across the board are single or extended cab trucks so anything longer I’ve seen are family or race team haulers. Nothing wrong with that, just surprised that young guy built a long bed.

Yeah big vehicles still work great but only in a straight line.
