And that is the lowest of low, cheapest of cheap style of LT shocks to go for.

these are the style a majority of people run on the rear. And relatively expensive. They can go for up to and over 3K a pair new and used for around 1500 to 2500 a pair. all depends on how far you want to go.

EDIT: not the factory series style, just bypass shocks.

Oh for sure man, I'm just kidding around.
And to OP, just add 50% to your estimated cost, it always ends up being more than you think

True. I estimated 10k and ended up 18k.
But I had some extras that don't really count.

There are always extras! haha. Factor in 6 33s or 35s thats 2k as well. 6 wheels another 1k-2k. And that has nothing to do with suspension. fiber glass can cost 1k. the list goes on.

OP a thing to remember as well, anyone will tell you this, there wont be an end to the build, When you get into LT there is always something you can improve and more than likely will do it. and you will never get what you put into your truck if you decide to resell.

Obviously Im not going to do a full LT in one weekend. The tuck I am looking at has the stock suspension. Would I do the rear or front LR first and then put a lift on the one I don't do? How did you guys do it?

no one is doing it in a weekend, it takes time. I did my front kit first, and kept a stock rear-end for about a year.

So what did you do for tires? Obviously once you put an LT kit in you want to change the tires. What did you do since you kept the back stock.

Yeah new tires are nice, and aftermarket wheels for different backspacing.
Have you read the sticky'd threads in the LT section?
Lots of good info for starting out, and will get you up to speed on what you need to do.

After lifting my truck 3 times (I'm not LT btw..) the first mod I would do if I could go back would be to add longer brake lines.. small minor detail but goes a long way.

Yeah you'll NEED these. Brake lines as limit straps are a no-no:)

I put rear fiberglass on and went with 35s you can run 35s on a stock rear end if you cut your bedsides large enough.

He has a 1st gen, no?
Don't know if 35's will break things on it. I'd start with 33's unless you plan on making everything beefy as hell.
But I don't know much about tire sizing

Yeah true, Not sure if 35s will fit on a first gen without any issues.

That's the truck I am thinking about buying. (I know its not 4x4 lol) <--- someone will say something though haha

Im gonna do some research on the 33s vs the 35s. Still hard to believe either of those fit on the back with stock suspension and the wider fender
