look how it eats up this dime

I know this is a beaten to death topic like oil or what have you. I’m just here to end it quick for people on the fence. If you have the money spend the extra and get LT. I had my 33” P wildpeaks first round for 50k. Now I tried LT 33” wildpeaks and I can say personally I was on the fence with all the back and forth here. I am extremely happy with the LT’s. Super quiet, super comfortable and rolls supers smooth. If there is a con I MIGHT have lost 1mpg it too early to tell. I believe I got C rated but I do know they are 6 ply which is perfect. I don’t do hard core off road or tow heavy but I do have a shell with tools. But if I ever tow heavy or want to travel deep I can. Plus the tread is deeper and meatier looking and it’s a different compound. Just feels like a better quality and worth the extra $50 per tire. 20AC6DA8-EEEE-40CB-9238-DA3F9642CAA2.jpg

OP see attached pic. Plenty of tread left after 55k on my set of LT 285/75-16. Sidewall says E load.

I've had both. You didn't really gain anything over a P rated tire with a C rated LT tire. In the same size a P rated tire is rated to carry more weight than C's. And you don't gain a tougher tire until you move up to an E rated tire. The only advantage is that I've never seen a tire bigger than 31.5" in a P rated tire. If you want 33's or bigger, it's going to have to be an LT rated tire.

Those should do what you need to do and still give a decent ride. I've had E rated tires and as long as I stayed with the same size fuel mileage never changed. It is only when you start going to a significantly taller and wider tire with a more aggressive tread that fuel mileage suffers. I could feel a difference in acceleration with the heavier E rated tires. But once up to speed there was little if any difference

LT cuz I don't like flats.

I had a couple sets of p-metric Bridgestone Duelers, great in the cold because they were soft like pencil erasers.. but I was plugging nail holes every 3 months. Tons of construction in my area..

nails and screws bounce off the LTs
