Lubing Control Arms

    How often does everyone lube their upper control arms/ bushings? I think it’s time to do mine. Anyone have tips for lubing the icon delta joins? I believe I need a needle adapter?

    Based on Icon’s website pics, it looks like there is a grease zerk on the underside of each bushing sleeve.

    I saw a video on YouTube from icon for the bushings. Seems easy enough. Loosen the bolt pump grease in until alittle comes out. I’m more concerned about the delta joint. Can you over grease that?

    Old grease should be able to escape from the lip seal at the base of the ball stud.

    Your picture shows a normal zerk fitting on the delta joint. :notsure:

    Needle tip couplers are meant for flush-mount fittings as seen on some aftermarket U-joints, e.g.:

    Got it. Thank you for the clarification. Last question, I was to clean the excess grease that is on the bushings now. Is brake cleaner on a rag the best method?

    No. Brake cleaner can dissolve the urethane bushing material. Use a less corrosive degreaser like Spray Nine.

    I have SPC's not Icons but I grease at each oil change

    Do you guys recommend I remove the wheel before greasing the upper control arm? I was planning on leaving it on, Just jacking the truck up
