Even with everything going on, the seafood market in Kemah remains strong with the bestest crab, shrimp, and other assorted goodies.

 

Had a go of porting my throttle body after work. Doesn't seem too bad if I say so myself.

Did some quick maintainence and inspected my air filter dirty on the outside.
pretty good on the inside. Also cleaned the maf so ATM I'm waiting for the air filter to dry so the oil can be applied. I need to order a larger intake coupler and a dry filter.

Am pleased with the open air area for the radiator and intake. Looks clean too like oem+. Another win was the @HomerTaco grill was lighter than the stock one so thats always a win in my book. Form must follow function.

Why not also weld the seams then or whatever they’re called?

 

Could if it has a vacuum leak, although the only time I have seen that is when that lower intake manifold is separated. I just plan on bolting it on and if no leak then some ve testing and retuning.

Very very challenging to get a torch in there to do that. Very. I have definitely discussed that option with him, to go with that train of thought.

 

Had my go at some 1/4 test and tune stuff after taking a personal day. Really needed it. I felt this was necessary to get a baseline of the truck in its current state. I also wanna put it out there that I am WAY better at cornering then drag racing, not sure why. Anyway 1st run was pretty bad. Wheel spin for a little more than an 1/8th mile.

2nd one I tried rolling into it.

3rd was the same.

The runs were all done with the Trac control fully off and didn't prep in anyway. The limitations were the open diff and the tires. I do think that the e fan and the ported intake manifold might take a .1 off the time. What was interesting was the speed at the end was consistent so take that for whats it's worth. I could also improve my driver mod.

 

But did you launch from the tree in reverse???

Shhh. It's a hack.

 

Installed my ported intake manifold before i went to work. Went faster then i expected.

Cleaned injector seats.
not as bad as i was expecting but not good either. Needs catch can.

Cylinder cover fell off, couldnt find it, not gonna worry about it.

New gaskets. Also cleaned the ports as best i could and chased them with a small magnet just in case and picked up a tiny part of the old gasket.

Switched over. Cleaned injectors and orings.

Buttoned up.

Started, no vacuum or fuel leaks = win. Drove to work fine.

 

Getting one step closer to getting a banks cat back thats not a banks cat back. Could call it a @Torspd cat back. So I got this borla muffler.

Compare to the banks at the casing to casing length is 24 3/4in and this muffler overall is either 21in or 22in. Not Much difference but will this make a difference with all the packing vs the banks w/half of it blown out. We'll see.

Kinda eh on the welds was expecting more considering the price difference vs Magnaflow or vibrant but feels solid. Just used to hks, nismo, and tomei welds. Also have a special tip coming to add to the jdm factor.
