Archive leaf springs showed up today. So minus the rear sway bar, and maybe a traction bar and a panhard bar, the rear suspension will be complete. Will wait till it gets warmer cause its starting to get cold.

For the Trac bar? I had some axle wrap at the rally so my plan is to try better bushings with the hammer hangers and if that doesn't work then maybe a budbuilt traction bar or a custom one with a panhard bar to keep the axle centered.

i have gotten Pablo & Alex at Tandem onboard to fab a custom gusseted bracket in the future, but I'm focused on a bunch of other things now so I'm not missing the bar. but it was good before it destroyed my shit. I'll be getting it back on as my power increases a bit later this year (Roost etc).

 

Ah yes. I had some hesitations about how it was mounted. Thanks for sharing. I think @Torspd and I will make a custom one providing how the prior mods handle the next rally. The front was rather very compliant with stock control arms. The Rear, minus the open diff, needs the most work.

Its a place called rally ready kinda before austin. They have off road track days. Was pretty fun and was cheap. Only $150.

 

cool. the higher speed stuff is my thing and I've setup the truck for it. i drive mine kinda like a trophy truck around town... seems i should be looking for something like this. is it a circuit or something? what's the approx speed?

 

I'm also into high speed stuff. This is a point to point deal. I almost hit 60mph in maybe 3 areas. However the course is narrow. Trucks with the width of raptors need to be careful. This is probably my best run outta the event.

 

are you guys open to inviting a 3g if you repeat? not actually sure i can get away from the fam so easily but that just got my attention.

You can show up with whatever. I was the only tacoma at the event. This is currently their maintenance season but said they run this once a month so just need to lay attention to the calendar. Its well worth the price.

 

awesome. i would be totally down but I've got huge loads of responsibility up here and rarely get away. but my 40 year best friend lives in Wimberely and we've been meaning to meet up. just be in touch, never know how it might work out.

i just bought a set of 3.0 Kings IBP all around and haven't even received them yet.

 

There was a jeep jl on kings that did really well. It did get air in the rear over the jumps.

 

Advice against the budbuilt trac bar. Ruffstuff has a nice kit for a diy set up. That's what I went with

 

What issues did you encounter?

 

Not me personally. The way it attaches to the rear axle via the 3rd member nuts/bolts had caused some 3rds to partially separate and lose oil. Not something I was willing to chance or would recommend on a high hp build

the Budbuilt bar is good. it's totally legit and designed right. no issues at all. the bracket, however, never should have any place with that kit, or anything for that matter. no idea why they let that slide. i would buy the bar itself again. but as a kit with this bracket, knowing what it will cost to fab one, I'd also look elsewhere.
