I'm sure this is a bit of loaded question, but does the brand matter? Is the Walmart, Autozone, etc. brand stuff seem to work just as good as the Lucas, Chevron, brands?

It made my '07 run smoother when I use to use E10. I used the fuel treatment every tank and the deep clean every 5,000.
When I switched to E0, it no longer made a difference and I quit using them.

IMO, if you're after treatments to attack carbon, nothing really works except Sea Foam.

That's a great example of an oxymoron isn't it? :D

Just kidding. Kind of. As much bashing as Walmart takes around here it's amusing that someone thinks they sell the best of something.

The issue with Walmart, for me, isn't what products they carry, but how they treat their employees, and where they stand politically.
They also tend to put small business out of business.

Some of these injector cleaners are just worthless junk. Let me try to dig up the test article for them I read before. The results are surprising, although I can't remember exactly

Yeah, that one^^^^^^^^^^^ $8.50. Why would anyone pay almost $4 something for a single dose when you can buy the 32 oz for 8-10 dollars and get 5 doses for like $1.75 or less? Silly. Gallon jug of it must really make it super cheap per dose.

Just my 2 cents, I use in any anything I own that uses gas, Startron fuel enzyme, due to the ethanol fuel, I also have tried Lucas and Briggs and Stratton fuel treatment. I average 19-20 mpg in town and 24-26 mpg hi way w/the 3.5. Think about it ethanol does not work well in 2 cycle engines. but my biggest issue is that in my unprofessional opinion it's like adding sugar to the fuel, many types of alcohols are added to foods as sugars. corn is used to make ethanol, HFCS and corn syrup

+1, no problems, no issues, and no treatments either.

Well said. It would be great to find some empirical evidence that these products do anything, except improve efficiency due to a lighter wallet.

Oh yeah -- my daily driver is a completely stock 1999 V6 TRD with 225,000 miles on it. Still getting the same fuel economy it did new. In all fairness, I did run some injector cleaner in it about 2010 or so.

    all tore up already
Lucas has brought many cars back from the grave in my past and wouldnt hesitate to use it in the least but ive been using chevron techron around every 5k when i get an oil change with a tank of premium fuel. For the money it is cheap aide for our 12 injectors. I know part of the reason they use 12 is to keep upper intake and valves clean but im paranoid.

2 stroke oil is generally accepted lubricity modifier in diesel burners... but would not be tremendously advisable in petrol motors because it would contribute to prematurely fouled catalytic converters
