went through car wash yesterday and the high powered dryer blew out the rubber strip that goes in the track on the roof that a luggage rack would otherwise attach into...
it actually stayed in on the back end and i helplessly had to sit and watch the thing whipping around slapping and whacking the roof, then the door, then the back window, then the roof again... until the dryer stopped and the thing quit moving my truck down the track.
just hoping to god that it wouldn't scratch up the paint on my new double cab.
seems like it should just pop right back in, but $(#$*! it doesn't!
    i am so frustruated....
thought i had it in and was on the interstate today at 80 mph and it blew out again!
had to turn around at the next off ramp and go back and get it...
after playing frogger for 5 minutes, finally got it after seeing it get smashed about 20 times by every vehicle that passed.
doesn't appear damaged but still can't get the dang thing to stay in the track...
really just sharing my frustration more than anything...
that's my excitement the last two days!

oh, yeah.... and my weathertechs just arrived...
AWESOME!!!! THEY FIT LIKE A GLOVE!
and they're gonna keep my carpet from getting wet and remaining frozen solid for 4 months a year!
they've been soothing my frustration dealing with the roof rack situation :)

You could use some 3M black weatherstrip glue but if my truck was a 2010 I would be going to the dealer tomorrow.
    Good luck

I would have left it on the highway and drove straight to the dealer for a new one....not playing frogger on the highway!
