I'm about to pull the trigger on SCS Ray 10's 17x8.5 -10mm and have a set of ProComp lugnuts. I searched in the forum but couldn't get any definite answers. My current lugnuts are standard length that I used when I had a set of ProComp wheels. I was wondering if I NEEDED to get lugnuts with the extended thread? I see that everyone buys them when they get SCS Wheels. While I don't mind buying a new set of lugnuts in ET, I prefer to save $50 if it's not necessary.

    Current lugnut Specs:
    12mmx1.50 RH
    Conical seat 60 degree
    spline drive
    overall length 1.375".

    Thanks for your help!!

You'll want ET lug nuts to engage more threads on your lugs. It's more of a safety concern than anything. Your new wheels will mount to the truck with the lug nuts you have, but will be much more secure (and safe) with ET lug nuts.
