Just throwing this out there, but my lumbar support crackles and pops when I get in or adjust when driving. I was at the dealer today and told the service rep about it. He confirmed, but as we were talking another's 2016 rolled up. I said, "let's go over and look at his." We did and his was very similar. Even pushing on it makes it pop or crack. Is this just the way they all are?

I haven't heard such noise coming from the lumbar support yet. Does it have aftermarket leather seats?

Mine did it quite a bid when it was new (also cloth OR) but it's quieted down (got almost 9k on it now).

Stopped by the dealership and looked at 2 new trucks. Both made noise, one much more than mine. I'll consider myself lucky. I guess it's normal, but it sounds like crap and feels cheap.

Holy shit thanks now I know where its coming from. I thought it sounded like my rear view mirror was making some sort of noise on the wind shield. I lean forward to push it in and it stops but that's because I leaned off the lumbar... haha, damn.

Just went by another dealership and looked at two more on the lot and they were the same as well. Sales guy and service guy both thought it was weird. Got a shoulder shrug from both so left lol.

I don't think mine are pumped up at all. I'll see if I can play with it tonight

Yeah pump it up and jump in. Move around and even push on it in several locations. I bet yours does the same.

Take it in and complain anyway even if there a few on the lot do the same thing. Eventually Toyota will look into it and release a TSB im sure there are a bunch that do it. A fix will be some type of foam or spacer or something to keep the support springs from clanking. Most tsb are for noise complaints. Usually GM has a bunch times that I have looked for stuff. Have to go through 8 pages of them to find what your looking for. But all manufactures deal with this. Especially everything being plastic and held together buy cheap plastic clips now a days

I walked out to the parking lot and cranked the wheel on mine up as high as she would go and tried at 75% and ~%50 as well, no noticeable noise when shifting around in the seat. I also tried pushing back on it with my hands. I did notice a slight low pitched crackle/crinkle sound when I first sit in the seat but it does not persist while seated, just when getting in and out of it. Honestly if I didn't know to listen for it, I might've never noticed it. Not sure this is the same issue as you're experiencing, at least not to nearly the same degree. I certainly would not describe the noise I heard as a pop or crack. More of a crumpling sound...

I called Toyota and submitted a claim or whatever. The service writer told me to call Toyota and complain. I asked him if he had the number handy and he said "no, I think it's like 1-800 Toyota or something." I looked at him like this o_O

Yeah that's the sound. Some are horribly loud and others are less pronounced.

Meh, if it works then I wouldn't worry about it. Mechanism is probably the same as the 2nd gen, given the side seat plastic trim and levers look the exact same, and I've never heard of anyone having an issue with the lumbar mechanism on a 2nd gen. If it conks out under warranty then I'd bring it in, otherwise you'd be wasting time having the dealer look at it....to be honest they probably don't care if its just making a crinkle noise.

To be honest if that's the only thing that bothers you about a brand new vehicle (and generation), then you've got it made.
