Lunar Rock Gen III Thread

Hello all. New to the forum, and new to Tacomas. Traded in my 2016 Jeep Rubicon for a 2023 Tacoma TRD OR in Lunar Rock. REALLY digging this color. Love seeing all the Lunar Rocks in this thread. Giving me TONS of build ideas. I’ll see if I can get a pic from the dealer to load. ‍♂️

 

Happy 0th birthday!! After trying to sell me a charcoal and a couple white AC's, and a used 4 door, the dealer finally came up with what I wanted. My access cab lunar rock TRDOR is being built today, according to the dealer. Do they really build them in 1 day? Supposed to be delivered mid Feb. Replaces my salvage rebuild 08 ACTRDOR that replaced my 01 ACTRDOR, the only other vehicle I ever bought new. Oh yeah!

Nice! Mine is waiting for delivery... hopefully end of Jan. What finance rates are they offering now? Impossible to figure out from online info, since every "incentive" excludes 99% of Taco models / trims.

 

At the end of last month (dec 30) I got the Toyota 4.99% advertised rate. Once rates drop more, I’ll refi through my credit union.

 

Alright folks, I'm new to the gang with a 2023 Lunar Rock TRD Sport! I'm loving the lunar rock and I would like to add some to my interior with glove box letting, filled toyota emblem and such. I have priced them all out on Tuffskinz, but man... I just can't tell my wife I am going to spend that much on stickers! Does anybody have an alternative that doesn't seem like such a stretch for stickers? Should I pay to have good products?

Loving this Lunar Rock though, prior to the day after Christmas I had never seen it... Once I saw it I had to have it!

 

The lunar rock is growing on me (still not over my inferno that got totalled)..

 

Returned the Tuf Skinz lettering. Color wasn’t even close. Got the Tacos4Cheap from Etsy and the color is spot on. Cheaper, too. I think it was $21 total with shipping.

 

I recently added on the door panel inserts with my Tufskinz mudflap order so I could get the free shipping. Not impressed with the door inserts color..

Finally joined the Lunar Rock Family. Wife already has a 4Runner in LR which I thought would be weird if we both had the same color vehicle. I assured her we don’t have to start dressing and talking alike unless she really wants too! I’ll post some side by side pictures. For now, here is the pick up at the dealer picture and the first couple mods. I added the Cali Raised Cat Covers and a Tonneau Cover (Bakflip Revolver X4s) that a fellow TW member gave me a great deal on. This is such a great place!

You can fix it pretty easily yourself with one of these

DIY windshield repair kits at home. You just need some sort of UV light or use the sun for it to cure. It's best to do it as soon as possible to prevent the crack from spreading. I recently fixed my wife's windshield and you can barely tell there was ever a chip.

 

A little over one year later and I am still loving my lunar rock. Recently got an ARE V series topper used. I am enjoying the two tone more than I thought

 

That looks great and I’d love to replicate this look. I have a long bed though and it seems used toppers are harder to come by in my area.

 

I have a different brand but ordered the rain X one to keep once I use what I have.
I’ve repaired small bullseye on my 4Runner before. We’ve been having crap weather in so cal so I can’t repair it yet, but the truck isn’t my daily so im not super worried.

 

I know what you mean. I have been looking on marketplace for quite a while. This one went up and I bought it within a day. Just have to keep an eye out and check frequently. Good luck with your search.
