Did they make you put money down at all 4 dealers?

Trying to find a lunar rock off road. Anyone know what color it gets listed under at different sites (edmunds, cargurus, etc.)? Most of these sites have categories for blue, red, etc. but not a grey-green.

When LR came out and during the time I was looking LR was often listed as ‘brown’.

    (I know!).

Still, it was a helpful way to distinguish the LRs as there is no other brown color to confuse this with on a tacoma.

That was more than a year ago and I (gladly) have not searched since…

I managed to get the TRD lift thrown into the deal, but the dealer had to order it, so that’ll be put on at a later date. Other than that, looking to get a retrax cover and the Yakima overhaul HD racks for the kayak.

Dude! Are you EVER going to upset a lot of guys here at TW with your post! Drive by and happen to see this truck on the lot which many have been rabidly lusting for and unable to get but you “just stopped by and bought it outright”? SWEET!!! Congratulations.:bowdown:

Right, I'm waiting on mine to make the trek from Mexico currently. I know the feeling about not looking for a truck and then buying one. I was sitting in car waiting for wife who was shopping and saw a LR TRD, was calling dealers two days later on Monday looking for an allocation.....

Are those PA inspection stickers I see on that windshield?

Pure luck. My local dealer is really low on everything, so this stood out sitting in a mostly empty lot! I considered a Taco in August, but every dealer around me seemed to be back ordered pretty far out. Ended up getting a new 21' crosstrek and modding it a bit. Ended up trading that crosstrek in for this after only 3k miles. Excited to start customizing the Taco.

The majority of dealers I have called (around 30, mostly in the Western half of the country, but some on the East Coast) are either not accepting deposits anymore (sometimes because they have too many, sometimes because I am the only one on the waitlist), or are not accepting a deposit on my particular build because it is very specific. The ones that do are 50/50 refundable vs non-refundable, and 50/50 $500 vs $1000....

Can't really find any rhyme or reason to the madness. This will be my 5th new Taco and it's almost like I should be able to order a truck directly from Toyota rather than waste my life dealing with unknowledgeable morally devoid sales drones.

Honestly it's probably easier for me to buy a dealership at this point.

My cousin is looking to sell his 21 LR Pro, automatic, 5000 miles, in Central PA if anyone is interested. Truck is stock except for running boards and LoMax tonneau, and has OEM upgrades like bed lights, bed mat, tailgate lock.

    (he wants a Tesla instead)

Glad I browsed back some pages and saw this. I have the retraxone XR ordered (polycarbonate) along with the Yakima Overhaul HD racks. Went with the 68" bars being that i'll need to haul 2 kayaks at times.

How much bed space did the retrax system take up?

The cannister is about 1 ft x 1 ft. On a 5 foot bed with about 2 feet of depth, you lose 10% of the bed volume, roughly.

It sits on top of the wheel wells flush with the end of the bed by the cab. There is space below it, but anything you would have wanted to lay on top of the wheel wells becomes a no go. Since you are 'building up' with racking, you'll have lots of options when you need them.

On the flip side, I drove through a multi-hour downpour on a road trip with all of our luggage and gear in the bed. Other than the corners by the tailgate where the weather stripping is not perfect, everything was bone dry. It's critical to get the alignment right during installation if you want this outcome, I think.

Wait you don't get JBL in a manual? Only thing missing is the auto start option.
