I got it done on my 2018. We dont have too many days that its super hot out, but it does help on those hot days when I am just parked.

Toyota paid for it. They replaced my ac compressor under warranty, and the ac just didnt work as well as before the replacement. I took the TSB to them and had them do it. I knew the tsb wouldnt fix the low ac output because it wasnt the problem, but I wanted the fan for when I am idling. My ac was not working well because the tech overcharged the system.

That is why the 5k mile oil change is a good idea. Most people have no idea how many hours their engines run between oil changes.

And that is a lot of moving parts just to spin an AC compressor

If your drive home later is short, you'll weaken your battery but otherwise it's no issue

I don't care what effect it has on the truck, my ass is sitting in AC comfort always! I've always said, there is a special place in heaven for the person who invented freon!

It’ll be fine, down here in So Cal we do this all the time with no issues, it’s called sitting in traffic!

Couldn’t help it….. I tried to find a way to ask the largest tire size possible for a parked truck but couldn’t…

I've seen literally 100% of people do it during summer on all cars, so I guess its fine. Except me though, I care too much about my car to ever use AC literally, besides I am not fan of AC air itself whether its car or just in the house. I think it may be issue if you are in extreme temperatures and cold engine starts using it right away.
