    Hmm...

In traffic I usually go from 1st to 2nd before I'm through the nearest crosswalk. Just enough to get the truck rolling and then I'm into the next gear. I tried skipping 1st and starting in 2nd for a bit but it's a bit too tall. The short shifting makes me feel like I'm shifting in a big rig, but it seems to load the suspension less than if I try to ride 1st gear to a reasonable speed.

The short 1st gear really seems to mess with people. It makes sense when towing and offroading, but for daily driving it's generally too short.

Yeah if im in traffic its basically the same i gotta shift quick to get into second and that when it will "Buck". And i did the same with trying to start in second, this only helped when i was on a slight downhill so i use second if the road slops down a bit, if its flat (level) or uphill i have to start in first.

All I can say is keep experimenting until you find your own groove. I'm not really sure how I do it exactly, and I don't think that I shift particularly fast or slow... I just know that I've found a shifting rhythm that suits the truck.

yeah true say, each truck even of the same year made on the same day needs its own touch to run
