lynx gulch trail angeles crest

are any of the roads open around you to explore? have you been since the fire?

 

Not sure. I haven't been since the fire, but I'll ask my friend and keep you guys posted. I would go and see for myself, but I'm currently in Irvine.

 

Just letting you guys know that it is in fact CLOSED. My friend drove up there only to get pulled over and told to turn around. Below is the video of the aftermath. It's unreal...

did you try going up through soledad?

 

Nope, I think he only tried the Angeles Crest Highway entrance in La Cañada-Flintridge since we live only a few minutes from it.

 

yea that area is definitely close, the area im thinkin of is on the other side, towards the outskirts of the fire.

 

Yeah, I believe it's near Santa Clarita. I've never been that way.

I drove to the Indian Cyn entrance from Soledad Cyn today. There is a large sign in the middle of the road that said trail closed.

You can drive around it if you want, but its just a temporary sign put there by the fire dept.





We can always do the pipe line rd but it only takes about 1 hr.

 

woah woah woah woah....woah, how come i haven't seen on tw/talked too/off roaded with most people in this post, i live in la canada, base of the crest, you guys def. need to hit me up when running trails...and yes crest from 210 side is still closed from the fires

 

Derek thanks for the update! for the pipeline road do you enter through valley canyon road or through sequoia rd? there any straightaways you can open it up or is it mainly just hills up and down?

 

You can enter on either road, they both connect. The Sequoia entrance is a very steep drop, kinda fun.

It is mostly hills and the road is not wide enough for going fast (drifting).

Overall this trail is only 2 miles or so. It does not take much time. Its fun and a good experience but does not warrant a hole day trip unless there is something else near by to do...

 

Im not sure but last time I checked Rowher flats was gonna open up sometime next month (November), just on the other side of the 14 with access to a few other trails

 

YUP! finally! it was supposed to open up last year!

 

I looked at the sign a few weeks ago. It still says Nov 7, 2009.

EDIT: Also is the 2 open all the way through?? ive been dying to cut through the 2 to go to mthigh. saves so much time

 

I believe everything opened Monday (including the 2).
