Thanks, nothing special on the suspension it’s just factory. I’ve thought about upgrading it but will probably not to keep it a more comfy daily.

Well the Z is in the shop getting the rear diff serviced and to address a slow leak. Can’t really drive it without knowing that is good to drive lol. Pretty sure it’s from the drive shaft.

Yep confirmed pinion seal leak on the rear diff. Getting an estimate on some other work while in too.

Just updated a saved post. Got a rear diff leak addressed/ shaft seal leak. Had it serviced at same time. Realized it had headers, 3 inch exhaust and no cats. Apparently a custom drive shaft too. More investigation to be done in good time.

Possibly I want to keep it a fun reliable street cruiser. I knew it had a K&N air filter and Flow Master. I’ve only been home a month with it now and have had very little tinker time. Looks like I’ll be buying a new home so most of the work will be pure maintenance until the funds slow down lol. Really want to get it on a dyno and tuned I think before doing much. Car sounds good when you really get into it. The exhaust makes it sounds nice but not crazy in normal driving. I’ve only driven it 3 times since buying and 2 times was in the past week lol.

I've got a K&N drop in filter in mine too. I've drove mine today to run a couple of errands as I just washed the Tacoma and it was supposed to rain. It's a non TCS car (no traction control) and a 6spd, which is always entertaining.

Flowmaster was well known to choke these cars. It doesn't scavenge well with the LS1's. I'd suggest the magnaflow cat back as it flows very well and is quiet until you punch it. The SLP Loudmouth 1 and 2, Texas speed catback, and madhammer catback will flow very well too, but with a ton more rasp at 2500-3500rpm with headers.

    https://www.madhammer2.com

Suspension and brakes will get you a lot farther with these cars than motor work. The stock LS1 can only handle about 420-440ish hp before its a problem. Of course if/when that happens, swap a 5.3 iron block with a turbo and upgrade fuel system for reliable 600hp fun all day long. :burnrubber:

I've been thinking about selling mine and moving onto something else. :notsure:

I'm willing to bet you've got pacesetter headers.

Nice yeah we’re thinking a long the same line. This is after our PM lol. I’d like this car to be as close to 400hp with some bolt on stuff and a tune if I can without screwing up the reliability. Probably pacesetter headers I’d bet too as well. Thinking ARH exhaust up grade down the road and something else other than Flow Master. Currently sounds good though I must say. Not like a true open header system. Expected much more from it.

Z got its first oil change yesterday. I could tell it was much happier after. Oil was dirty, no idea how old. Also oil drain plug was way to tight and I had to use a breaker bar and smashed my thumb. The oil filter was kinda loose it seemed to me.

I love the third gens. She is a beautiful z28. I have a huge soft spot for these. So much you can do to them. Here is my 94

Very sweet, looks awesome. Had a 3rd gen a long time ago as well. Then wanted another and had been looking for a long time but never found one that was worth buying and found this sweet 4th gen. Thanks sharing love to see more pics!

Love 4th gens! Sold my '02 Z28 back in December and have had seller's remorse ever since. I plan to find another, probably a TA. Owned mine from 46k miles to 72k miles. Full bolt-on build, lowered, UMI chassis, pushing 430rwhp. Mine was a 6spd and I didn't wanna push the 10 bolt rear much more even w/ an Eaton Truetrac. It was very reliable. Never had a single issue out of it, other than a leaking pinion seal. Ended up being a scored yoke that I had to replace. But that likely happened as a result of the diff swap.

That’s very nice as well. I like the TA as well but those seem harder to find while I was looking.

Well the Z got out of storage yesterday, a short drive and wash. First wash since I got home from working overseas. Cleans up nice for a 22 yr old car!

@MGMDesertTaco hey my power windows work. Both about the same slow speed. Trying to decide if age has gotten the better or I should replace? I know bigger windows can be slow.
