This thread is right up my ally.

2002 FireChicken. Almost 440 hp to the wheels without the 150 shot.

 Jelly  really wanted either a Trans AM WS6 or 92 25th anniversary Camaro RS to build. I didn’t even try to find a Firehawk. Super hard. Found this Z and decided to pull the trigger and stop waiting. More pics!

If you put any power to this car, start saving money for a different rear axle. I went through 3 before just saying F-it and went with a Strange Engineering S-60 with 4.11 gears. Wish I would have stayed with 3.73 for street use, but those 4.11's were fun at the drag strip.

What are your goals for the car?

Yeah I heard the rear end is weak. Those 411’s have to be a blast. Rip n grip. I’m going to keep it more reliable/ fun cruiser. The LS1 only has so much potential and needs serious money thrown at it to make decent power. I’ll wait to just replace the engine with an LS3 or something.

Those 10 bolts suck and even if you do some of the fixes...still a turd.

You can get a 525 LS3 for damn reasonable and make that car a total sleeper. I have a 6.2L aluminum block in my garage too. Not sure what I plan on with that. Rainy day I guess.

I had the 6 speed with stage 3 monster clutch. The interior is custom with a pretty crazy stereo system in it. Definitely a mullet monster.

The LS1 can still be very fun depending on your goals.

Yeah the 10 bolt will go. It just needs to break for me to upgrade it. The LS3 will probably be in the future. I feel like the LS1 is hurt. It’s gotta a slow oil leak in the rear main seal I need to fix. It falls on its face sometimes when I jump on it at the same speed occasionally. Might just need a tune done. Has headers and a CAI it came with. I know there is more done but I’m not sure. That 6.2 will be fun. Firebird your only toy? Audio is my target currently but nothing extreme. Went extreme on my vette back in the day.

    @ColoradoTJ

We need details on the stereo and motor mods in that fire chicken. I've always liked the Pontiac's better.

To do a rear main seal, you will need the LS kit from GM. (Kent Moore kit)

It's been a minute. Sold it in 2013 after a motor replacement (bad day at the drag strip) and I was enjoying the Corvette a little too much. At the time, we had 6 vehicles and two drivers. 5 were mine so something had to go.

    Motor: PRC 2.5 heads/FAST 102/Nick Williams 102, can't remember cam specs, but it was rather large/150 shot nos/1 7/8 ARH/LS7 lifters

Car: Subframe connector/ridetech CO's/poly suspension comp.

Stereo was Sundown Audio/Kenwood. 4500 watts total.

This is what I chose over the TA. Not sure I made the right choice.

Loved mine, had a C5. Only issue was two seats as the family grew.

Don't get me wrong, the C6 GS was pretty flippen fun. It just wasn't practical in CO. Wife wants a C8, I want a Cadillac CTS-v/ATS-V/CT-4 or 5

I rode in a C8 on a "test track" at Barrett Jackson in Scottsdale not too long ago. It was deceptively fast. The mid engine really puts the traction down.

I’ve always wanted one of those CTS-V caddy’s. The C8 I would like to checkout as well. Tough choice.

    Those CTS-V's are impressive.
