Did Mike have to back up and re-approach from the first pic to get him in the line in the second pic? The first thing I thought when I saw the first pic was that this is going to lead to an oh shit moment... haha

 

That was exciting all over again. Great pics Monte.

 

Yeah, I think so. I can't remember for sure but I think that continuing straight would have dropped the driver side on the slider. For sure that was a tight turn.

This is my favorite shot so far. Sexy...

Yea we both did. Our trucks don't turn sharp enough. You had to go till the rear driver was near the point of popping over the top of you. Then back up a bit. And re cut in to get the front passenger on that higher spot. This forced the rear driver side down and you just drive it out.

If you look at me doing it. My driver rear gets about 2' or so off the ground. I just don't have a direct shot of it haha

But yea. Can flip the truck on that part. They call it the twister.

 

@Blackdawg I just noticed that my headlight filler plate disappeared much earlier than we originally guestimated. Best guess (from your pics) is it's somewhere in Monument Valley. For sure it is between this pic in the Manti-Lasal complex...

wish there was a better way to keep those damn things in.

 

I'm pretty sure mine comes off because the bumper flexes into it. If that is the case, staying at home and never modifying the truck will prevent it.

 

Ha just went back and looked, yeah this is the type of position I was expecting. Can definitely tell you got the wheel high up in that one. I love that you guys can really capture some of these obstacles with your photo's.

 

why do you guys have so many antennas?
all i got is a cb, is one of em ham or something?

Yeah, they are for Ham radios. My three antennas are for the stereo, the CB and the Ham. Monte has a 4th as he has 2 ham radios.

 

Yea was a tippy situation! haha I did it without a spotter..show how..lucky i guess haha

yea the rear antenna is my CB. Then the back one on the roof is my dedicated APRS HAM radio. The middle roof is my dual band HAM. And then just good ole FM radio haha

 

Finally caught up after missing the past few posts. Sorry for blowing up your notifications Monte and Mike. Great pics like always. You going to do an actual trip report (eventually) or just have this be the trip report?

 

No this will get a full report. this trip was too awesome not to had a real report. It'll be a freaking novel of one haha I did it right this time and took notes every night and everything. Need to finish Fires n Tires first which is only 2 more chapters(halfway through ch3) and then i have to write Alberta Bound. But may start this one first as we are waiting of Photos from Ben's Fiancé @m3bassman since she has the main shots of the shit show that happened on that trip. But they are in the middle of a major life shake down so i don't expect to see those soon.

So could start this one but idk. We will see what comes first. Im not going to rush mike on his photos of this trip and im not even done either. haha

But yea. Two big trips left to write up.
