This is about half way down the upper section (above the huge ledge) of Rose Garden Hill.

I love this pic. It really demonstrates just how steep that trail is.

 

Rose Garden Hill is on my list! I believe @Squeaky Penguin ran it this summer during RT, but he would have to confirm.

I agree with you regarding the photo. I think trying to depict steepness or angles in a photo generally gives zero justice to the difficulty of an obstacle, but the photo Monte snapped looks like you were driving down (or walking up ) a massive staircase.

Stoked for you guys. This thread just breathed some life and motivation into me to get out more before the season ends down here.

 

Your biggest issue now days is the 15" rim I think. And the fact you want skinny tires. Get some MTRs. So what they are 12.5 wide you'll learn to love it.

Not a trail to bring a barely armored tacoma down really. Thank god it wasn't my first rodeo haha

I think with 35s you'd have no problems will want a belly skid for the big ledge. Not sure you'll make it up the ledge without a front locker but maybe. Idk. I wanna go backs its Frank either way haha

Wouldn't be surprised if he has. But maybe I would be. It's a steep ass hill rocky hill with big ledges. Be a bear going up it.

That what I like it do! Need to get out again myself. But snow is falling in the mountains up here.

 

Nope. I went down it doing on the Kokopelli on my way into RT2014. Going up it has been on the list, it's just a bit of a haul away from Moab. I'm fairly confident I could get my rig up it, but it would be very challenging.

 

Let's do it...when I fix Frank

Would be crazy to go up it. Definitely a big challenge.

I watched a group of heeps including a 90s Grand Cherokee on like 33s walk right up it after I came down. F+R lockers and some careful driving should get you to the top.

 

Well I'll be locked f/r by then and you are so...yea lets do it haha

I was looking at some youtube vids of Rose Garden dated from 2013 and 2014. It looks like this trail is a lot more torn up now compared to what I saw in the vids. Not sure if this is true or not. We know videos and photographs never rarely do justice to reality.

 

Yea I watched a vid of Bob doing it last year. Doesn't looks the same at all. More dirt it seemed. Idk. Hard to say.

 

Since this was our first time, we have no reference point for Rose Garden but we both thought that TOTW is torn up more than what we recall from 2012. Could be much the same way for RG.

 

That's true. TOTW was definitely tore up. But I guess that's just the way it goes for trails in general.
