22 TRD OFF ROAD

Does anyone have the M.O.R.E. skid plate on their third gen Tacoma? I am wondering how to get rid of this gap? The instructions say do not remove channel supports on the crossmember. I am wondering if I remove the channel supports will it sit flush in the front?
