This is also what I get in my AC when I have stretches of 100% city driving. Stop go never over 40 mph city driving sucks for mileage in this truck (not really a surprise though)

EDIT: I'm totally stock minus an OME lift (still on stock tires for now) and a camper shell

I get 17 combined, usually about 300 miles per tank. 12 seems low but like others said, it depends on a lot of things.

I get around 16 on average with a tank of gas. I have Cooper AT3 265/75R16 tires and it's about to change with heavy skid plates. 12 seems really low!

I average 15 mpg us (per Ultra Gauge) driving around town but that doesn't include stop and go backed up traffic. Traffic is never bad where I live so its just traffic light to traffic light kinda thing. I have 44 pound 10 ply cooper A/Tw's. DCLB.

On nothing but hwy I can get just a hair over 20.

12 seems awfully low to me. I have never seen it on my truck. I commute through Seattle everyday in traffic, still get about 17 mpg on average and go about 310 miles on full tank.

But I have NO lift and run Michelin MS2 tires.

I only have 1300 miles on my V6 DCLB auto, so take the following with a grain of salt.

I have checked mileage with every fill-up, and it has ranged from a low of 13-14 (mostly in town) to a high of 20 (one 250-300 mile round trip with about 1/3 highway, but half was in a heavy snowstorm, average speed of 40 mph, occasionally in 4wd due to road conditions).

Overall, I am getting 15-16 with a mix of city, secondary 50 mph roads, and interstate.

One caveat: I bought the truck in Jan, and Feb was the coldest month on record where I live (average daily temp of a little over 6 deg F, many morning commutes at -10F to -20F). Where I live, winter fuel blend and cold temps make about a 10% mpg difference compared to summer based on other trucks I have owned.

Your best mileage will always be on secondary roads at speeds of 45-50 mph if you can keep it there.

Twelve seems low. I have a cinder block on my right foot and manage 14. If you're stock, good chance something's not right.
