Well, some common sense must be applied for sure. For instance, when I adjusted mine, I made sure that there was still a gap between the rod and the pedal when it was fully disengaged. Ie - that's what they refer to as rod play in the manual. So there's no chance the clutch is being partially disengaged just sitting there, because the rod is fully out. If someone isn't sure/not comfortable, then I agree - don't touch it.

Edit: Bishop84 brings up a good point. If you don't have mechanical experience or are not comfortable doing this, then take it to the dealer. If you do attempt it, READ AND FOLLOW THE PROCEDURE IN THE SHOP MANUAL!!

My dealer's techs told me there was no adjustment - so I decided to do it myself

Checked mine and it's literally 1mm so didn't end up needing to adjust anything, but thanks a TON for the service manual!

Sorry to revive an old thread but I thought this would be the best place to list this question. My pushrod jam but is tight and the play is fine. However, I still hear a rattle when normal acceleration vibrations occur. Under further inspection, it appears the entire push rod is rotating a bit. Is this normal? I’ll be taking my truck in for routine service in the next few weeks. So I need to bring this up with them? If this is normal, any way to get it to stay out so I don’t hear the rattling? Here’s a video of what’s going on.
