Mac boxes

Anyone think these would sell? I have made two now, as gifts, and thought about selling them. 6 - 8 hours in labor though.

 

About 8" tall and 6" wide. This one is oak with three coats of poly on it.

what is your thought on what they would be used for.

 

Drawers.

 

Throw it on ebay with a reserve and see how it does. I think it would easily fetch north of $250. People pay for handmade quality stuff like this.

 

i know that but what would you put in those drawers is the question.

I made one for my daughter, she wanted it stained dark though. I put ebony stain on it.

 

I have made other boxes too, just not Mac related.

 

I like these better than the Mac one! That yin and yang looking one is sweet!

Except eBay may take the auction down. Unless of course the OP has a legal agreement with Apple to use their property.

OP I would stick to selling them locally. I'd say they could get $100 here. Handmade, real wood items are getting rarer and rarer.

This one also has a matching small clock. I made the clock and box from a piece of English walnut.

 

How do the drawers operate on the Mac boxes ? Is there a housed runner on the side or are they just nested into the irregular opening of the case ?

 

They're all just wood on wood. I line them with a flocking kit which is kind of like powdered spray in felt.

 

Nice work . Are the cases laminated ? Looks like the grain all matches up
