Bed stiffeners and a big metal plate under it, I don't think the composite bottom will hold up to the recoil, even if it has dampeners. Thats what the old metal beds were good for.

Plus he’s going to have to cut off the shark fin, that thing gets in the way of everything.

See I don’t know man. I feel like these beds would hold up better. Just a feeling though. Absolutely no science to back this up for all the “where is your data” guys.

Some posted about cracking corners here, with no stiffeners and a bed rack. I had to push on my bedside corners sometimes if parked on a side hill to square it enough for the tailgate to close before I got stiffeners, too.

    Stock and staying that way
I've seen WWII Jeeps with dummy M2's in the bed.

If you really want a M/G, and live in a free state, there is a process. They are rare/expensive, but available. I've owned 2 legal machine guns.

Mounting a real one in your truck and driving around with it is pretty dumb though. Just saying.

Because here we are talking about guns and manly stuff, not bed stiffeners and feelings.

I was saying that myself lol.

I like hearing about the practical experience with the old stuff and how it compares to our stuff. An old milsurp vehicle with a machine gun would be sick.

@US Marine , were you around for the switch from Jeep to Humvee?
