So I wanted a little more sound out of my truck and bought a Borla Pro SX muffler. It does sound great on the outside but way too loud on the inside for my kids and being as daily...anything I can do to help or should I just put the stock exhaust back on?

You could try adding a resonator into the exhaust. I put an LCE exhaust on my truck, and it was way too loud and droned in the cab. I put a 12" long Vibrant resonator before the muffler, and it helped a lot. It's still kind of loud, but it is livable. Before I put in the resonator, I would get a headache on drives over an hour long.

You can also put sound deading in the truck, doors, behind back seat, the roof and the floor. The interior has to come out forts though.

Yea, was just messaging someone and they recommended the Vibrant Ultra Quiet resonator. Trying to decide on if I should try this route and hoping it works or go back to stock muffler. Wife finally rode in the truck and was not happy

your probably better off buying a all new OEM stock catback exhaust and installing it yourself, and maybe try to sell the other one

Any reason you went with that one vs the Vibrant Ultra Quiet?

Yeah, I think if I decide not to do the resonator, I'm just going to get the stock exhaust put back in and leave this alone, spend my money on other parts than another exhaust kit lol

bout $362 plus a new donut gasket, you could probably put it on yourself pretty easy.

It's been over a year, so I don't remember my exact reasoning. I'm sure cost was a large part of it, since the bottle style resonator was about half the cost of the Ultra Quiet.

My wife told me to go ahead and try the resonator but if it's still too loud, then go back to stock...so I'll be ordering one soon! Do I just get it welded up right before the muffler??

Yeah. Just have it welded in before the muffler.

I should...only thing I did was had the shop cut out the muffler and weld in the borla in the same place

Not sure if you already ordered a resonator, I would definitely recommend going with the Vibrant Ultra Quiet though. It will kill all the drone in the exhaust and still keep a nice sound, especially under hard acceleration.

Highly recommend this but only if you're willing to go all the way (do everything) otherwise the returns are pretty minimal but if you do it all (roof doors floor back wall etc) it's a very appreciable difference and very appreciated mod, especially on long road trips did a 21hr of straight driving and much much less fatigued and irritated vs the same trip before.

It's not cheap and it's not easy though.

Pictures ain't even close to showing everything but give you an idea. $1200 or so, and probably 40hrs labor at least, a fair bit of blood too, that foil will cut you ain't you won't even know.

And I only have the TRD cat back and DT's.

Just a heads up, I ended up adding a resonator in the stock muffler location and moving my borla to stock tire location with a dump under the bumper and it’s almost trd exhaust quiet but slightly sportier of a sound rather then the v6 drone I’m used to.

    significantly quieter…almost too quiet
