Yes, I just picked up my manual transmission, Access Cab TRD Sport made in Guanajuato. Date of manufacture Nov. 10, date of delivery Dec. 15. Much of that time delay was spent waiting at the port of Vera Cruz for the ocean voyage to Newark, N.J.

Lol. Companies decide where to produce, not workers. Start a company, get a bunch of workers all over the globe and let me know who will make the decision.

If these same people ACTUALLY cared and truly thought about what rhetoric they were spewing, they'd be driving a Ford Ranger (most American made truck; Assembly + Parts) and this 'America First' philosophy would be reflected in their daily lives.
But they probably need that thing on ...a.m.a.z.o.n... and they NEED IT NOW.

Probably not. It was the main reason for buying my 2001 tundra. It was supposedly built/assembled in indiana, and the 4.7 engine in west virginia. I was hoping toyota someday would build another tundra similar in size. I didn't buy into these tacoma's till this year. I had several compact toyota 4wd pickups in the past since the 70's.

Too much turbo complexity with these eco boost engines. Buddy of mine that services eco boost ford engines told me your usually in for a big turbo maintaince bill if you plan to keep the truck more than 5 years or over 50k miles.

so.. you don’t trust american engineering and workmanship is what I’m reading?
But you want americans to assemble the puzzle for you?
Assembly good, engineering/tech bad or too complex?

this kinda pretzel logic hurts my head. Kudos to you for keeping it all straight in your head.
    I’m outta this thread.

Actually i just don't like fords, never did. I've always had toyotas, that is after owning a 67 jeep which wasn't bad, but i always wanted a small compact 4wd pickup which started with a 78 toyota wolverine. I've been loyal to toyota owner ever since. The tundra was built here and was the best truck i've ever owned. They earned my future business so i made sure the next toyota truck owned was made here.

My TRD Pro was made in Mexico. I couldn't care less where it was made. I care more about who designed the truck, and the company ethos. Toyota has a solid reputation for a reason, the place of assembly doesn't matter.

As an aside, I had a Honda Ridgeline which was made in Alabama I believe. I know it was made in the US, primarily of parts sourced from the US. I had nothing but problems with that truck. None of which I associate with where it was assembled. It was probably due to first year of a new generation that needed bugs worked out. I would buy another if I liked the looks as much as the taco, had the off road capability of the taco, and the aftermarket support. I miss the size of the cab, the rear folding seat, and the trunk in the bed.

For reference, the Baja California Plant (TMMBC) VIN code is M, the Guanajuato Plant (TMMGT) VIN code is T.

For all Tacomas (11th VIN digit):

Z = California, USA (NUMMI, up to 2009)
    X = Texas, USA (TMMTX, 2010 to 2021)
M = Baja California, Mexico (TMMBC, 2004 to present)
T = Guanajuato, Mexico (TMMGT, 2020 to present)

Mine is a 2020 hecha en Baja. Only thing that bugs me about it is the driver's side rear bumper is about two inches further away from the bed than the passenger side. Otherwise, it has been good so far. I have had it for six months and have put on a little over 11K on the clock.
