My first Olympic distance triathlon. Perfect weather and the super great people. The drive through Monument Valley was just unreal, going back there for sure.

I did a roadtrip to Mesa Verde one year in late August. Spent the night there, at the campground then drove up to Moab, stopping to see Canyonlands on the way up.
After checking in to a motel in Moab, I took a little nap.
After waking up I was looking at google maps, and realized Arches NP was right up the road. Cool.
I drove to Arches around 6pm, and got to witness a gorgeous sunset, followed by a Full moon rise an hour later.
It was like a religious experience. Finished it off with a nice pasta dinner back in Moab. Awesome.

    Nice, you will love it.
I spent a week in Jackson Hole, then 2 days at Alta, before driving to Telluride.
    Then south to 4 corners.
It was a lot of new ground for this local boy.
Growing up in Hawaii we don't get to go too far. :^)
Arches NP was unreal at night.
Not a breath of wind, and a million stars.

This post is sort of funny to me coming from a guy that lives in Haiku, Maui ! I grew up in the Colorado mountains and have been going to Moab once or twice a year to mountain bike, camp, hike and 4 wheel for the past 20+ years.
Not that I take it for granted but we traveled to Maui once several years ago and had an unbelievable experience that was comparable to yours in Moab!
My ladies best friend lives in Haiku and she was dating a local who grew up in Hana at the time. We had our own personal tour guide of the island who took us to some places that the average tourist would never make it to. A couple places that were special to him to watch the sunset and rise were highlights that I will never forget.
I know you know this, pictures don't make it real, your memories and experiences do

Funny how we take things for granted.
